1) Flavius,

the Government official, talks to the cobbler, a commoner:

FLAVIUS. But wherefore art not in thy shop today?

Why dost thou lead these men about the streets?
SECOND COMMONER. Truly, sir, to wear out their shoes to get myself
into more work. But indeed, sir, we make holiday to see Caesar
and to rejoice in his triumph.

Why is Flavius angry? What does the commoner say in response?

2) Now Murullus, another government official, gets angry. He tells the commoners:

O you hard hearts, you cruel men of Rome,

Knew you not Pompey? Many a time and oft
Have you climb'd up to walls and battlements,
To towers and windows, yea, to chimney tops,
Your infants in your arms, and there have sat
The livelong day with patient expectation
To see great Pompey pass the streets of Rome.

What did the people of Rome used to do when Pompey came to town, before Caesar killed
him in battle? What is Marullus saying about the people of Rome?

3) Flavius and Murullus drive off al the commoners, and come up with a plan together.
Flavius says:

Let no images
Be hung with Caesar's trophies. I'll about
And drive away the vulgar from the streets;
So do you too, where you perceive them thick.

What two things does Flavius intend to do? What does he tell Marullus to do?
