providing disadvantaged children in urban settings with an opportunity to get education. They
have partnered with schools, communities and stakeholders to reach out to children between
the ages of 2+and 16 years and get them on board for holistic education. Some of the initiatives

DRF. SIP now supports 52 schools reaching out to 23,000 students by providing remedial
support and scholarships, facilitating like computer labs and drinking water systems, setting up
libraries and maintaining toilets. Key outcomes of this program are to increase girl child
enrolment and decrease the dropout rate in the SIP schools. SIP is operational in Telangana

to provide proper education to the children from disadvantaged backgrounds who could not
afford to pay for public schools. There are 4 Pudami neighborhood schools and
20 Pudami English primary schools in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy district. These schools are
located in close proximity to where the children live and involve the neighborhood community
and parents in mobilizing the children to attend school. These 24 Pudami Schools contains
more than 8650 children from all walks of life. These schools are assisted by the Education
Resource Center in curriculum design, academic monitoring mechanisms and preparation of
training material for the teachers in accordance with the national curricular framework.

teaching methodology adopted at the school is activity-based and takes into account the
specific needs of every student. Those who are lagging behind in academics are brought into
the mainstream through special remedial programs. The school also assists students who
