GLOBAL HAND WASHING DAY CELEBRATION

CALUBIAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

The simple act of hand washing with soap is one of the most effective ways
to save childrens lives. Washing hands before eating reduces the spread of
diarrhea disease and far reaching effects on the health and welfare of children
and the people in the community.
In line with DepEd Regional Office VIII issued unnumbered Regional
Memorandum regarding the celebration of the Global Hand Washing Day with its
theme: Raise A Hand For Hygiene. This theme is action-oriented and can be
used particularly well for advocacy purposes to encourage everyone as hygiene
champions,
In view of the DepEd Leyte Division which requires all schools to join the
simultaneous celebration of the Global Hand Washing Day on October 15, 2015.
As the world observes the Global Hand Washing, the Calubian National High
School also actively participated Worlds Simultaneous Celebration because we
know that this activity aims to develop public awareness and appreciate the
importance of proper hygiene and practice of WASH in School and in Community.
In addition, the Global Hand Washing Day is to foster and support a general
culture of hand washing with soap in all schools shine a spotlight

ACTUAL RESULT
Based on the different activities done by the students who actively
participated the said activity, the impact to the students are to become more
aware of the relation of proper hand washing to the health care and other
diseases caused by improper handwashing.

PROBLEM MET
The following are the problems met during the said activity:
1. The students need a thorough knowledge, awareness, and skills about
proper hand washing.
2. The students capability and volunteerism in bringing their own hygiene
kits.

Awareness is the best solution!

SUSTAINABILITY
The best practice of the school in order to address this problem is to
integrate proper hand washing in all learning areas and SBM-WinS
integrate in the crafting of SIP.
