Math 30-2 Course Outline

Fall 2016

GENERAL CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:


1. Attendance - You are expected to attend class everyday unless you have
a verified absence. If you miss a class, it is your responsibility to get the
notes and assignments that you missed. If you miss class when an
assignment is due, you will be expected to hand it in the first day back. If you
miss a scheduled exam, you will write the exam the first day you return,
preferably outside of class time.
2. Lates - You need to be in your desk with the required materials when the
class begins. If you are frequently late, you will make up the time in during
flex.
3. Electronics Cell phones should be on silent and kept out of sight or they
will be confiscated for the remainder of the class the 3 strike rule is in
effect! You may listen to music during daily work time (if they are not
distracting you) but not during instruction, quizzes or exams.
4. Extra help - Get help if you need it. Come in for extra help after school or
during flex!
5. Internet support Important announcements and the lesson from each
day will be posted on my webpage at the end of the day. If you miss a class it
is expected that you have familiarized yourself with what you missed before
coming back to class. Your mark will be updated frequently so please check it

MARK BREAKDOWN:
Course work 70% (daily work 30%, and unit exams 70%)
Diploma Exam 30%

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITY:

1. Attend
2. Be prepared (bring your textbook, binder, pencil, red and blue pens, and
your graphing calculator every day)
3. Work hard
- Complete all homework assignments. This class is taken as a
prerequisite course for admission into university/college, so you should
expect it to be rigorous and to have
homework. Random homework
checks will be done and they will be worth marks.
- Study for quizzes and exams.
4. Show respect for your classmates, your teacher, yourself and the school
property.
5. Get help when you need it. Ask questions when you have one.
6. Work to your potential.
