A. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Mortality as a component in the demographics are important
components to be researched because it plays an important role in the
survival of a community, whether it will evolve,static or fail to
survive.The welfare of mothers and children who are affected by the
components of mortality is closely related to the process of
pregnancy,birth and post-birth. The third period will determine the quality
of human resources that will come .
Maternal mortality is still a major problem facing countries in the
world,especially
country
berkembang.Menurut
World
Health
Organization ( WHO ) ,the maternal mortality rate worldwide is
estimated to 400 per 100,000 births hidup.Berdasarkan region , in
developing countries 440 / 100,000 live births , in Africa 830 /100.000
live births , in Asia 330 / 100,000 live births , and in Southeast Asia
210 / 100,000 births hidup.Indonesia included in the 13 countries the
world's largest contributor to maternal mortality ( Prabowo , 2002) .
Quite apart from the phenomenon, many are questioning whether what
the real cause of maternal and infant mortality rate , whereby it with a
variety of cases, the important power of heart to find out more causes of
MMR and IMR.
The International Seminar on the theme " Preconseption Care For
Reducing Maternal And Infant Mortality " which contains about the
causes and how to reduce maternal and infant mortality rate.
B. PURPOSE
The purpose of this event is :
1. Provide information on how to reduce maternal and infant mortality
rate

2. Provide Special Knowledge for Health Personnel in disseminating to

peers to improve professionalism
3. Provide knowledge about preconception care to reduce MMR and
IMR.
