Prior Knowledge of Class (from previous lesson if applicable):


Students are familiar with the use of Padlet
Students are exposed to picture composition writing before and are aware of the format.
Students are able to come up with basic sentences for each composition picture.
Specific Instructional Objectives (SIOs):
Students will be able to elaborate on the characters feelings in composition writing.
Students are able to expand their sentences and include feelings in the characters dialogue.

The video is about a male student and a female
student getting angry with each other over
trivial matters. Eventually they learn to care and
share for each other and patch up their
friendship.

students about the need to include feelings
in the story in order to make it interesting
and exciting.

Introduction

Development

1. Teacher conducts a compare and contrast

activity using PPT by showing two sentences

(one of it has feelings and the other does not


have ) and get students to decide which
sentence is better and elaborate on their
choice.
Students have to raise Hamburger or
Fries card to indicate their choice.
Students have to able to zoom in and
point out verbally that the particular
sentence is better because it has
feelings in it.

1. Teacher uses PPT to illustrate to students
how they can expand their sentences by adding
in feelings.
2. Teacher instructs students to collect laptops
for their group (1 laptop per group).

3. Teacher assigns each group with the task of


expanding a particular sentence and making
sure that the sentence has feelings in it.
Teacher uses Padlet to conduct this activity.
Students are to visit :
yelaoshichinese.blogspot.sg to post on the
Padlet there.
Teacher creates a post on Padlet and
instructs various groups to expand on the
sentences within the stipulated time.
Students are to work in their groups and
can refer to the vocabulary list given to
them.

4. Teacher evaluates students work after they


have completed.

1. Teacher assigns each group with another


task, this time requiring them to make use of
the skills they have picked up to create a story
for a composition.
Each group is given a particular picture of a
composition.

Students are to work in their groups and


come up with a story for that particular
picture within the stipulated time and their
story should include feelings.
2. Teacher evaluates students work after they
have completed.
Teacher will provide feedback on the spot.

1. Teacher assigns students with the task of


completing the full composition at home.
2. Teacher flashes on PPT what the students
have learned today and lists down four
common feelings : Angry, Happy, Sad,
Excitement.
3. Teacher hands each student a heart-shaped
post- it and students have to write down the
descriptive phrases of any one of the feelings.
4. Students are to paste their post-it on the
class wall after the lesson.
