Mexico Geography Project Guidelines

Due Date: September 20, 2016


The third grade country this year is Mexico. The first nine weeks we will focus on Mexicos
physical features. Each student is required to complete ONE of the options listed below by
September 20, 2016. If you need assistance or supplies, please contact me before the due
date!

Option 1: iMexico
Create your own paper ipad with apps that contain
information about a geographical feature of
Mexico. You must include 9 apps and your facts
must be written in complete sentences. Make sure
you use your own words when stating facts.
Your ipad must include the following information:

A river in Mexico
One of the mountain ranges in Mexico
The capital city
Another landform (ex: volcano, peninsula, isthmus, desert,
etc)
Population
Climate of a particular region
Another major/important city
Fact of your choice about the geography, climate or
population of Mexico
Fact of your choice about the geography, climate or
population of Mexico

Make sure you color your app and place your fact underneath
the flap. Be creative and have fun! Please make sure your ipad
is no smaller than 8.5x11 and no larger than half of a poster
board.
**I have an ipad and app template if you need it. You can also
download them from our website!**

Option 2: Postcards from Mexico


Pretend you are exploring Mexico and are sending postcards to
your class at Peabody. You should decorate the front of your
postcards with images related to your location and include at
least 3 important facts about your location. You must complete 5
postcards.
You must create a postcard that include at least 3 facts about
each of the following:
1. A mountain range in Mexico
2. The capital city
3. Another landform (ex: desert, isthmus, peninsula, volcano,
etc.)
4. Climate and population of a particular region
5. A river in Mexico
Make sure you use color and student work is evident. The
postcards cannot be completely computer-generated. The post
cards should be no larger than half of an 8.5x11 paper. You can
staple them together, attach them together with rings/strings, or
place them in a folder.
