Teamwork

is the ability to
work together
toward a
common goal.
With that,
nothing is
impossible.

Attendance
Students are expected to be responsible in attending every day

possible, and arriving on time.

In the case of an absence, it will be the students responsibility to
acquire the work that was missed.
If you know in advance that your child is going to be gone, please let
me know a few days in advance in order for me to get the work
together for them.

Homework
Homework will be written in students weekly planner. Completed

assignments must be checked and the planner initialed by a parent

in order to receive credit. Planners will be checked for a grade
once a week but students are required to bring it everyday.
Reading:
o 30 minutes a day/5 days a week; reading should be marked daily
in your childs planner, and their total number of minutes read
for the month should be marked on the first page of their
planner.
o Your child can read alone, with a younger sibling, or with an
adult. Some of the time should be spent reading out loud.
Discussing what has been read with your child will improve
reading, thinking, and language skills.
Math:
o If a student is unable to finish a math assignment in class, then
it will be sent home that night as homework, and is expected to
be returned, completed, the next day.
o It is vital that students bring their math book back everyday.
o If students score below 80% on any assignment they are to
take it home that night, fix it, and return it the following day.

Projects:
o Students will have additional projects throughout the year,
some of which include: a state report, a Native American
report, and a famous American report.

Grading
Parents need to check SIS regularly.
A missing assignment report will be sent home each Tuesday.

essays, summaries, compare and contrast, etc.)

Birthdays
We will celebrate each students birthday in class. Summer birthdays

will be celebrated near the end of the year.

When celebrating a special occasion, please be prepared with all the
supplies needed (napkins, forks, etc.). It is okay to just send the
items to school with your child. Otherwise, plan on coming the last
few minutes of class (around 3:00). Please do not send anything that
will stain the carpet (red punch, colored icing, etc.) Food items
brought into school for others to eat must be store bought. There are
30 students in the class.

School Materials
The school will provide all of the supplies that your child will need in
our classroom. Please do not send school supplies with your child as
they are unnecessary, and your child will not have room in their desk
for them.

Additional Information
Cell phones must be turned off and left in backpacks during the entire

school day.
SEP sign-ups will be online this year. Therefore, please make sure your
email address on SIS is one you will check frequently to ensure you
