20%

Projects might be counted as classwork, as a test or as extra credit. You will know in advance which
one. The final exam grade is calculated after all of the about and is weighted as 10% of your final grade for this
class.

Quizzes/Exams:
There will be in-class assessments at the end of each unit but quizzes may be given at any time.
In addition, a final exam will be given at the end of each semester. Refer to district policy for
exemption criteria. Assessments will consist of a few problems that require the use of a combination of
strategies and techniques explored throughout the unit.

Homework/Classwork:
Classwork will be assigned and posted, whatever is not completed during the class period will
automatically become homework and due upon arrival the next period or whatever is decided during
the class period. Additional homework will be assigned as deemed fit.
Notebook/Participation:
You are expected to be prepared, participate in group discussions, work together on activities,
answer questions posed by the teacher, present solutions to homework problems to the class, take
notes on all activities, and follow general directions.
Class Resources
This class will utilize a variety of resources. Students will use their Schoology accounts for access
to notes, assignments, and tests. If you are a parent, and would like to register for a Schoology account
for my class, please let me know and I will send you a class code that you can use.
Attendance/Make up Work
Texas law mandates that students be present 90% of the time. It is very important that you
attend class daily. You will need to be up-to-date with the material at all times since most of the topics
build upon each other. All assignments will be posted on Schoology as well as on the calendar. If you
are absent, it is your responsibility to find out what you have missed. Late and make up work will
follow district policy.
