Senior IT Manager - Software Quality Assurance, Atlanta, GA 2003-2009
Managed software testing activities for all releases supporting three manufacturing channels,
installed server and client software upgrades. Estimated, analyzed, planned, and conducted audits,
risk assessments and mitigations using software testing methodology. Developed software testing
methodology curriculum and conducted training courses for all levels of Software Quality Assurance
Analysts and Engineers. Worked with formal change control and compliance processes (SOX,
SAS70).
• Maintained full responsibility of client relationship software testing activities with company’s
largest retail customer turning a negative situation into a positive one. Identified their needs
and challenges and provided a solutions-oriented process to support their testing requirements.

Initiated software testing process using TestDirector. Developed and executed test cases for six

• Supervised testing projects supporting shift from VAX to Windows server based architecture.
Led to retirement of outdated applications.
• Created and distributed release notes to end-users for each software testing project informing
user community of the additions/changes in the forthcoming software. Provided translation of

Senior Production Support Specialist – IT Production Support Help Desk, Atlanta GA,
1996-1999
Responded to calls regarding software or hardware issues from 40 production facilities, and
determined viable solutions. Enlisted assistance from development personnel and system analysts to
resolve difficult technical issues. Managed integrated system of VAX computers.
• Provided 24/7 first-point-of contact (Tier 1 Help Desk) support.
• Researched issues and provided analysis to IT teams for resolution. Used Support Magic and
Keys software to log issues and resolutions for future reference.

Plant Computer Coordinator and Composition Supervisor, Memphis, TN, 1982-1996
Maintained plant computer peripherals including 40 terminals and 10 printers; installed software
updates and performed system backups. Logged and reported software issues to the IT
department. Worked with IT personnel to test software upgrades. Trained and managed up to thirty
employees in the composition department, which prepared the check orders for printing.
• Managed workflow of six-sub departments, providing workflow to the press line.
