Applications are invited from highly motivated, dynamic and well qualified teachers who hold a
relevant degree and work experience with experience and a clear understanding of
teaching. Knowledge and understanding of current practice in England and experience of an
enquiry approach to learning are desirable although not essential.
General duties and responsibilities include but are not exclusive to;

To provide clear structures for lessons and for sequences of lessons, which maintain
pace, motivation and challenge.

With reference to the International Primary Curriculum and the schools policies and
schemes of work plan and deliver the teaching programme for all Individual Needs
students.

To have oversight of students academic progress and achievement at all levels.

To provide a model of good teaching practice and offer support to staff as appropriate.

To have an input to assessment and reporting procedures.

To participate in the school admissions process of Individual Needs students.

To assist with the creation and revision of schemes of learning at all levels.

To represent the Faculty at the Primary Curriculum Team meetings.

Be familiar with the Code of Practice - identification, assessment and support of pupils
with special educational needs.

To help train and support Teaching Assistants and other support staff.

To ensure progress across the ability range, through data analysis and target setting and
to ensure equal opportunities for all students.

To follow up parent and student concerns regarding academic performance and wellbeing.

To communicate academic and pastoral information regarding students performance


when required by Year Leaders and class teachers.

To reward and praise students educational achievements.

To allocate students to teaching groups and manage the movement of students when
necessary.

To liaise with the school counsellor where necessary

To liaise regularly with the Year Leaders.

Evaluate ones own teaching to improve effectiveness.

Ensure high quality communication with students, professional colleagues, governors,


parents and outside agencies.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional colleagues,


governors and parents.

Participate as required in meetings with professional colleagues, governors and parents


in respect of the duties and responsibilities of the post.

Through performance management agree their professional development needs and


how these can be met.

Participate in a minimum of three Community Events which take place at weekends


during the academic year.

Actively promote the well-being of all students and be familiar with, and uphold all,
Safeguarding policies and Child Protection procedures within the school.

In liaison with the Line Manager, take responsibility for upholding Health and Safety
practise within your own working area and be responsible for completing risk
assessments/near misses as appropriate.
