-

This report is to act as a preliminary proposition report for initiation of a Media Club
within Iqra University Islamabad Campus (IUIC).

Abstract
The current day and age makes people from all walks of life, especially the youth,
indulge in media based activities as a regular recreation fixture. Education
institutes, especially Universities, across the globe recognize this factor and the
weight of it; subsequently a popular architecture within institutes termed as a
Media Club/Society exists to act as an appropriate platform that allows students to
make use, develop and express themselves with these media outlets.
The existence of media societies not only helps channelize and exhibit better media
work on part of the students that may help the students be more enthusiastically
spirited towards academic activities but also adds a good flavor of exuberance to
the university environment as a whole.
Several universities that run media based clubs have also manufactured ways in
which students that are in the Media Club not only improve their academic skill by
being a part of the club but also contribute massively towards building the
universitys brand image. This document conceptualizes the ambition and
application for a possible initiation of a Media Club in IUIC.

that maintain functional Media Clubs/Societies primarily aim at

prominent media based platforms for academic, professional & extracurricular purposes.
b- Bringing about an aura of a lively academic environment with an air of
vibrant professionalism within the university.
c- Organizing, coordinating, assembling and assessing media based work done
by students of the university, helping them form teams (if they may require)
and aiding them crystallize their ideas.
d- Providing the students help and guidance/coaching to refine their work to a
very fine degree of professional level.
e- Directing media output by the media society towards relevant industrial
sectors for industrial use, to help appropriately channelize the work of the
students and also to impart reflection of quality from the university. This
where students can be helped so that they can peruse their commercially
viable ideas and the universitys brand image can improve via appropriate
exposure of the work.
Media societies act as breathing grounds of creative influx for students from almost
