PA/Legal Secretary

Liaising with

All fee earning and secretarial members of the


commercial property Business Unit.

Major objectives of the role

To provide PA support to designated members


of the Commercial Property Business Unit
and Secretarial (WP) Support more widely.

Major Tasks

1. To prepare correspondence and


documents through audio-typing and
word processing on a pooled
basis
in the Business unit from digital
dictation.
2. To work closely with the designated
fee earners on other PA level matters
3. To administer scanning and filing on
to the system and the opening, closing
and storage and retrieval of client files
in accordance with the detailed
procedures contained in the office
manual.
4. To prepare mail and enclosures for
despatch.
5. To make assist with the billing process
by preparing accounting documents to
include bills, cheque requests and
transfer forms (where appropriate).

6. To make appointments, arrange


meetings and maintain and up to date
diary for his/her principal.
7. To attend to clients on behalf of the fee
earner both in person and
on the
telephone and to provide such support
in a professional and friendly manner
in keeping with the firms standards of
client care.
8. To ensure the confidentiality of all the
firms clients documentation and
information.
9. Any other duties as required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Required Skills

Trained in secretarial practice.


High grade word processing and audio-typing
skills

Required Knowledge

Knowledge of legal secretarial work

Possible experience most likely to help with


successful performance of the role

Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or


experience of working in a professional
office.
