METHOD STATEMENT FOR SITE SURVEY

1.0 INTRODUCTION
This work consists of all surveying activities necessary to control the many phases of
work required to construct Projek Jalan Akses ke Empangan Baleh, Bahagian Kapit,
Sarawak (Pakej A Fasa 2 Pembinaan Jalan Dari KM 5.00 KM 9.80, Pembinaan
Jambatan Sg. Selangir, Jambatan Sg. Sebatang dan Kerja-kerja Berkaitan) under the
supervision of the Regional Manager Jabatan Kerja Raya Central Regional Office in Sibu as
the Superintending Officer.
Surveying works covers the establishment of centreline, boundaries of the road
alignment, necessary lines and grades of permanent structures as shown and specified in the
drawing and introduction of new bench marks and additional control stations as the
construction progresses.
2.0 FIELD SURVEY AND SETTING OUT
2.1 Preliminary Setting out and Pegging of Road Alignment
Surveying works covers the establishment of the centreline to be provided and
verified by a License Surveyor which is registered with Land and Survey. Licensed
Surveyor must provide the necessary survey stations to be taken from the records of Land
and Survey and establish new control and bench stations.
The Surveyor shall erect permanent intersection points outside the construction limits
and shall be recorded accordingly.
2.2 Demarcation of Road Reserve Boundary

Licensed Surveyor must provide to Land and Survey all necessary field works
data from the setting out and establishment of centreline which were previously
surveyed. These data will be used by the Survey Department of Land and Survey
Kapit Division for the demarcation works of road boundaries

Method of Statement on Site Survey

Proper and visible staking of the road centreline and boundaries of the road
reserve must be carried out and certified by the licensed surveyor. All data must
be submitted to the S.O. for verification.

Survey on the proposed platforms boundary and existing ground level shall be
conducted upon the completion of site clearing in preparation for earthwork
activities.

Site surveyor must ensure that proper staking and pegs, slope pegs, embankment
toe markers, limit of cut or fill must be present at site at all times.
