Exporting Deployment Configuration with the Deployment Manager

Deployment Manager in the Oracle Identity Manager Administrative and Web Console to
export an XML file that contains custom objects and entities created during the course.
You will export the organization hierarchy created, roles, role categories, rules, approval,
authorization, and access policies into a single XML file, entities-training.xml.
Any dependent and child objects associated with those entities and objects, such as
resource objects, will be included.
Important: If you are migrating connectors between Oracle Identity Manager servers, before
importing your connectors, copy all associated JAR files to the ScheduleTask and
JavaTasks directories. Otherwise, your connectors cannot function in your target Oracle
Identity Manager environment. The Deployment Manager does not move JAR files as part of a
migration effort.

1. Login into Oracle Identiy Manager Console as super user account , xelsysadm.

2. Click on the Advanced link (right above corner )

3. Click on link Export Deployment Manager File, From the System Management
area .

accept the security certificate.


4.search all Organization by Click on Search button.

5. Select organizations and click Select Children

6. Click Select Dependencies , On the Select Children screen.

7. Click on Confirmation >>.

8. Click Add For Export to verify the items you are adding for export

9. Click Add More (Go to Step 1) and click OK either exit wizard and show full screen

10. Here I selected o add more option , that means Adding some more roles, role
categories, and rules to the list of exported objects.
Select Children and Select Dependencies on the Select Children screen.

11. Click on Confirmation when select dependencies

12. Click on Add for Export

13. On the Select Children screen, click Select Dependencies.

14. Click Confirmation if there are no dependencies to select on the Select
Dependencies screen.

15. Click Add for Export on the Confirmation screen.

16. Select Exit wizard and show full selection and click OK.

17. Click Export to proceed to the Export page lists all the objects you have selected to
export by Deployment Manager in OIM.

18. Enter a short description for the export : approval policies, Custom Objects for
training - orgs, roles, authorization policies, access policies, and rules. This field
should be as descriptive as possible.

19. Navigate to /u01/export/stage directory and save the file as entitiestraining.xml.

20. Click Close after the objects have been exported.
