6 Government policies and legislation (please provide a brief description of policy/
legislation which will be covered in the report and describe how national and local legislation
is passed in your country):
As a manifestation of Indonesia's commitment toward Sustainable Development Goals,
Indonesia, through Directorate of Literacy and Equivalency Education, Directorate General of
Early Childhood Education and Community Education, Ministry of Education, is enforcing a
program known as Movement on Education for Marginalized Women Empowerment.

The program aims to 1) strengthen local government and stakeholders commitment toward
the improving quality life of women as mothers that having role as the first and main educator
for the children, 2) arrange a local plan of Movement on Education for Marginalized Women
Empowerment, 3) upgrade marginalized womens knowledge and life skills in order to
improve family quality life that supposed to improve future generation quality life.
The program will be carried out in 20 selected cities. It is carried out in form of declaration
of supporting toward Education for Marginalized Women Empowerment, and supported by
the activities such as workshop, seminar, exhibition of products, and so on.

practice(s):

The program of Movement on Education for Marginalized Women Empowerment will be


conducted by local education office. The targets are productive-age women groups in the
following characteristic locations: female-patriot hometown, trafficking prone areas, available
for entrepreneurship village, having featured products produced by marginalized women, its
local government providing sharing budget.
