Heavenly Father,
grant that we may bear witness to your mercy.
Teach us how to convey the faith to those in doubt,
hope to those who are discouraged,
love to those who feel indifferent,
forgiveness to those who have done wrong
and joy to those who are unhappy.
Allow the spark of merciful love
that you have enkindled within us
become a fire that can transform hearts
and renew the face of the earth.
Mary, Mother of Mercy, pray for us.
Saint John Paul II, pray for us.
Saint Faustina, pray for us.
Amen.

Reflections:
pilgrimage.
Always travel in a group. Traveling alone creates a personal safety risk. A
member of our group should know exactly where you are at all times.
Exercise extreme caution when walking and crossing streets. Please use
designated crosswalks and be mindful of fast-moving, heavy traffic.
Do not leave your valuables at your lodging site/hotel.
Inquire about fire safety procedures at your lodging site.
Do not make jokes or threats about weapons, bombs, or dangerous acts.
Stay close to official WYD event locations; do not veer outside those
boundaries alone.
Please report anything suspicious to the local authorities and WYD staff.
If you are lost or in the event of an emergency, seek out World Youth
Day-security and volunteers - or contact the local municipal authorities/police.

THE BEATITUDES
When he saw the crowds, he went up the mountain,
and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him.
He began to teach them, saying:
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of
heaven. Blessed are they who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of
God. Blessed are they who are persecuted for
the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and
utter every kind of evil against you [falsely] because of me
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.
Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
World Youth Day and of all young adults around the world. His body will
be brought to Krakow for World Youth Day in 2016.
(Matthew 5: 1 12)
Young faithful witness from our native land and declared the "Lily of the
Mohawks," St. Kateri lost her family at the age of four due to a smallpox
epidemic and suffered greatly from the disease herself. She learned
about the Gospel from a group of Jesuits and, after converting, was
disrespected and persecuted by her own community for being a
Christian. She consecrated herself as a virgin and was known for
spending most of her youth and young adult years in adoration with the
Lord. She is a model of purity, chastity, and the New Evangelization. She
embodied both the Gospel and her native culture. St. Kateri is an
inspiration to all World Youth Day pilgrims who come on pilgrimage
carrying the weight of suffering, anxiety, and persecution.

Prayer Intentions:
Notes:
Patron of pilgrim travelers, James walked with Jesus after being called by the
Lord to become one of the Twelve Apostles. James had a special place
among the disciples: with Simon Peter and his brother John, James traveled
up Mount Tabor to witness the Transfiguration of Christ and joined Jesus in
prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane. Acts 12:1 tells us that James was one
of the first martyrs of the Church. Over the centuries, pilgrims have followed
in the Apostle's footsteps to his final resting place in Santiago de Compostela
in northern Spain. The road to his tomb, called the Camino de Compostela,
has been a model for pilgrims for generations - and continues to be an
inspiration for all those on pilgrimage, including those en route to World Youth
Day.
Hail Mary.
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He
descended to the dead. On the third day, He rose again. He
ascended to Heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the
Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the
forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life
everlasting. Amen.
Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and
Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus
Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole
world.
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on
the whole world.
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on
us and on the whole world. (3x)
O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus
as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!
Jesus, I trust in You. (3x)
