Review about the celebration of Buwan ng Wika

I.

Rationale
Every the month of August of each academic year, the Buwan Ng
Wika is the one of most awaited events in all schools, even in
elementary, high school and college. The Month is a celebration in the
Philippines held in the month of August. According to the Department of
Education ( DepEd) each year there is assigned theme, and the assign
theme as of 2016 is Wikang Filipino, Wika ng karunungan tungo sa Pagibig sa Bayan. It extended the celebration of Linggo ng Wika extended on
January 15, 1997 by Proclamation No. 1041 by former President Fidel V.
Ramos. Often celebrate the Month of the school. Many events are being
made it celebrate by the school nationwide with the Buwan ng Wika
month through various activities such as sabayang pagbigkas, sayaw-awit
o sayawit, pag-sulat ng sanaysay at tula, dula-dulaan, at iba pa. This
Celebrations reminds us the essence of our national language and
reminds us to love our own language.

II.

Program Flow
In the month of August 21, 2016 and September 5, 2016, Santa
Isabel College of Manila (SIC) held a program for the celebration of Buwan
ng Wika in the Sto. Cristo Del Tesoro Auditorium at eight oclock in the
morning until twelve noon. This event was prepared by Mrs. Josephine
Manuel our beloved Filipino professor. It was celebrate by various activities
like writing essays and the sabayang pagbigkas. BED (Basic head
Education) conduct a contest which is the sabayang pagbigkas. This
students prepared this contest for the whole month of August and showed
in their performances. The elimination round and the culminating round
and this event was held for two days.the programs strated at prayer
followed by singing the national anthem, opening remarks, introducing of
the judges and the announcing of the criteria for judjing. And next is the
starting of the elimination of sabayang pagbigkas. The program was good,
enjoying and not boring with the help of the energetic audience or the
contestants. I suggest that the program was make a good start like more
energetic and unique program to entertain more people in the room and
to energize more excitement.
The contest it was really good because they show their talents and
their own talents in the whole auditorium that was filled with tension as
well as the eager of each sections. It was truly wonderful that different
sections have a different skills and the way there perform their act of the

wonderful piece of Pat V. Villafuerte entitled Wikang Pilipino sa

Pambansang Kalayaan Pagkakaisa. It shows there individual talents and
creativity of the whole class to perform a good performance in front of the
people in the whole auditorium and by the cooperation of everyone there
performances it was wonderful and good. In each every sections in every
track has a amazing performance that everyone deserves a round of
applause. That showed the hard work of the every contestant of the each
class.
In my opinion, the emcees of the program for me it was boring
because they were not fully prepared in the program, their performance
as a emcees their voice quality is uncontrollable mistakes and lack of
excitements. But still they held the program well enough and finish it with
excitements. Still they did really a good job but I suggest that they should
practice more to improve their hosting skills to make it wonderful and
more excitements.
Ill rate this program 9 out of 10 because this contest for Sabayang
Pagbigkas in Buwan ng Wika I enjoyed and Ill perform well. So that this
program is unforgettable and a good memories to me because I really had
fun performing our performance in in front of the new face of people and
new environment.

III.

Interpolation of the Theme

In this new generation, the national language of the Philippines
continuing growing there are so many new words that were created like
Boom Panes, Edi Wow, and the most trending word is PAK GANERN
which it shows that our language is developing as the time goes by. It
okay that to use English language because English language is the
universal language in the Philippines That we can use to communicate to
other people and we can use it by our daily life. And by using English
words it is fast to communicate with other countries but forgetting our
own language or national language is like you forgetting where you came
from. Our language is not defined if you are smart or what but this is the
only way to taking care of our language and by loving it. Our national
language is the spirit of our national identity.
