Overview
Today SMBs want to increase their employees productivity and reactivity by giving
them communication and collaboration services they can use when on the move. Each
person must be able to benefit from his or her professional environment for sharing
information and communicating, whether they are in the office or traveling. Now you can
access your e-mail, manage your diary, share your contacts, consult your files and use
business communication services, wherever you are.
The Extended Communication Server is a solution for communication, collaboration
and complete, simple mobility to meet the essential needs of SMBs.
SECTION 1: Collaboration
The collaboration service provides a set of functions for sharing corporate information:
email, contacts, calendars, files and Internet bookmarks. The shared data can be organized
at different levels: users, groups and company. The collaboration services can be accessed
via interfaces adapted to the different business situations.

The Virtual Desktop is the main user interface

Web-mail
The Web-mail enables to access your
emails from any internet device that is
connected to the Web using any web browser.
All email functionalities are available. You can
do all what you need on your email interface
without any heavy software and even specific
device, thanks to the Web-bases interface. Only
internet access is needed to use it or deploy
new users accounts.

Calendar
The shared calendar allows to create events (meeting,
appointments..) and share them with your colleagues and
collaborators or delegate to your assistant. You can
access your calendar add, remove any event anytime
from anywhere thanks to the Web-bases interface.
Event creation:
Using your Calendar you can create private or public
appointments and invite other contacts who will be notified by
email and even in their own calendar. They have the
possibility to accept or reject the invitation.
Visibility:
You can share your calendar with other users who can see your availabilities. You can also organize
views, and colors in order to customize your calendar.
Layers:
It is possible to use the Layers which are useful for displaying other users events in your own
calendar (Different colors for all users)
Outlook synchronization:
Using Outlook Connector you can synchronize your calendar with your Outlook calendar. You can
keep up-to-date information whether you use Outlook or Virtual Desktop Calendar.

Contacts
Different contact lists are available on your
Virtual Desktop (Personal contacts list,
group contact list and company contact list)
The company directory is also available on
the contact interface.
The web based interface is very useful when
you are mobile and need to keep in touch
which your contacts.
Outlook synchronization:
Using Outlook Connector you can synchronize your contacts lists with your Outlook
contacts lists. This solution allows to access your contact lists in connected or
disconnected mode to maintain your data up-to-date.

You can select one or several contacts
from your contact lists and send them an
email
Click to Call
If a contact has his telephone number
available, you can click on it and initiate
the call by using the Click to call
window. The call is then done through the
OmniPCX Office Communication Server.

Bookmarks
This service allows to bookmark your favorite
sites and be able to access them from
anywhere as the information is stored on the
server and not on the PC. Your bookmarks
are organized by category and you have the
possibility to create personal bookmarks,
group bookmarks.
News
This module enables people from the
company to get access to information that
is provided through their Virtual Desktop.
This information is published by the news
administrator. This information can be
provided only for a group or for the whole
company.
File sharing
The file sharing service allows to exchange
files through the Virtual Desktop. By
uploading and downloading files. This is a
very powerful collaboration tool that can
be deployed on any browser connected to
internet.

SECTION 3: Mobility
Mobile Virtual Desktop
The Mobile Virtual Desktop offers the complete Office
environment on the mobile devices (Smart phones, PDA ..). This
module enables mobile workers to keep in touch with their office
and their daily working environment. No need of specific software
to deploy the solution as it is web based through a secured access
connection (SSL 128 bits ).

The Web-mail provided on the mobile devices is very efficient and useful when you are on
mobility. It allows to keep in touch with your business and access to your emails anytime and
manage your mail.
Calendar
Access to your shared calendar everywhere. You can modify or delete event, configure the display
of your events and you have the possibility to accept or reject events. Scheme (2)

Contacts
Keep your contact lists always available and up-to-date on your mobile. You can create new
contacts (Personal, company, group) and delete or modify existing contacts. When clicking on a
particular contact you can send him email (click to mail) or give him a call (click to call). Scheme

Telephony
The Mobile Virtual Desktop is a very powerful tool for all your collaboration needs
but it also provides the capability to configure your office device options remotely. Scheme

SECTION 4: IT services
Introduction
The Extended Communication Server includes all IT components required to deploy
an SMB enterprise network and setup a secured and reliable working environment providing
shared resources in order to increase productivity. IT services are included on each platform
and provide system base, easy remote management, backup, update and allows easy
management of the companys network (LAN, WAN, DHCP server, VPN,). It also includes
shared and secured Internet access with firewall, authenticated proxy and Web hosting.

Mail server
The Extended Communication Server includes a powerful mail server which meets to
SMB/SME email communication needs. Main messaging protocols are supported : SMTP,
POP3 and IMAP4. It is possible to manage mail size and quotas per user management and
use aliases and distribution lists. A statistic module is also available to monitor messaging
activity through useful statistic reports and analyses.
To increase security for inbound and outbound messaging Extended Communication Server
provided also solutions for mail content filtering :
Clam Antivirus : Checks mails, attached files and files in user directories to stop
viruses
SpamAssassin Anti spam : Checks e-mails for spam detection with customized
rules
Grey lists management (anti spam)
TLS support for IMAP, POP and SMTP
Relay authorization with authentication, IP filtering..

SECTION 5: Serviceability
Backup
In order to increase data security and integrity, the Extended Communication Server includes a
solution of data backup and restore.

Archives encryption is made using a key before content transfer (key to be defined in the
admin interface)

Restore
In case of restore need, if is very easy to start a restore procedure and get back to a
previous configuration content. It possible to choose the archive to be restored.

Auto update
The Extended Communication Server includes a powerful auto-update mechanism which
allows your Extended Communication Server to be always up-to-date by connecting on the central
support server to get the last correction patches or new features. To be able to apply this service
your Extended Communication Server has to be registered and know from the support information
system.
Some of the updates are automatic, some others are manual, you can configure your system to
choose which update mode you want.
