Analysis of Results

In the experiment carried out, the results obtained are very close to as
that what were expected to come, though there were very small variations
in the results which were negligible. In using the resistor, the total voltage
in every trial is 5V because that is the set voltage we will used in the
experiment. The current is not measured using the digital multi-meter
rather it is computed by mathematical method. The Vr or the voltage
across the resistor was measured using the digital multi-meter. And result
in every trial we did is almost the same with the total voltage supply. In

trial 7,8, and 9 the voltage across the resistor was 5V and its the same
with the total voltage supply. The measured resistance was measured also
using digital multi-meter. The results in measured R were completely close
to the results in computed R thus the procedure was correctly done. The
highest value of percent difference was 17.74% and the lowest was 0.5%.
In using potentiometer, the total voltage was also set to 5V; hence in every
trial we use 5V as the total voltage or V t . The total resistance in the
potentiometer was 46.5 kilo ohms. The current was measured using the
digital multi-meter and the result in every trial was quite close with each
other. The voltage across the potentiometer was very close to the total
voltage supply. In Trial 9 the voltage across the potentiometer was equal to
the total voltage supply. The resistance was also measured using the
digital multi-meter The value in trial 1 was high and with every trial the
value of the resistance is going low. In trial 1 the resistance was 40.5 kilo
ohms and in trial 10 the resistance was 1.94 kilo ohms.

Conclusion

Ohms law may be used in two basic circuit configurations: the series and parallel
connection. In series, all components are connected end-to-end to form only one
path for electrons through the circuit. In parallel, all components are connected
between the same sets of electrically common points creating paths for electrons
to flow from one end of the source to other.
In this experiment, we were able to determine the total voltage, total current, and total resistance in a
particular circuit. Also we are able to determine the voltage across each resistors and the current
flowing through a particular circuit.
The voltage across each resistor was all close to the total voltage equivalent to 5V. In using resistors the
measured resistance was close to computed resistance so we conclude that the experiment was done
correctly. Also the percent difference was not too big or high thus again concluding that the experiment
went well. And in using potentiometer the voltage across the potentiometer was also close to the total
voltage. The measured resistance was going down from trial 1 to trial 10 thus concluding that the
experiment went well.
