WORK EXPERIENCE:
3RD GRADE TEACHER | WALNUT COVE ELEMENTARY | AUGUST 2014-PRESENT

I am in my third year of teaching third grade in a low income, and Title I school

My job description includes creating 21st century lesson plans, curriculum aligned to Common Core and
NC Essential Standards, teaching (English language arts, mathematics, writing, science, social studies, and
integration of the arts and technology), implementing interventions for below grade level and at risk
students, administrator of state testing, and the implementation of the North Carolina law Read to Achieve.

I have earned proficient and meets growth on my teacher summative evaluations and EVAAS data.

I am trained in mClass reading assessments and Math Foundations.

I am/ have taught general education students along with students who have learning disabilities, special
needs students who were main-streamed, English language learners, and students with medical needs
(diabetes).

Actively serve on the school music drum club, The Upbeats, active member on the school production team,
actively participate in grade level meetings, participate and present at professional development sessions.

Secured a 5,000-dollar donation to the school for school-wide and personal classroom needs.

Started and implemented an after school reading program for developing readers who were below grade
level in reading.

I have presented at county wide professional development sessions on daily 5 reading and interventions to
use in the classroom.

Was a cooperating teacher for a teacher cadet at the Stokes County Early College.

I was an intern at the St. Philips Church Complex in Old Salem. The job included remembering a historical
script and descriptions of the different parts of the museums. Many tours were given of the site to visitors
from across the country to local school systems.

I was responsible for the two musical libraries at Salem Academy. This included sorting music, labeling
different tasks, and organizing the libraries.
