1. Overview
PocketPRP takes away stress from traveling, saves you from hassles of reporting, organizes data,
manages plans there by increasing efficiency & keeps you updated on the go. A complete personal
resource planner.
The concept of PocketPRP Personal Resource Planning is to reduce redundancy & provide an integrated
solution for most commonly used programs like Travel, Data, Finance, Health, Networking etc. So you
can always expect PocketPRP upgrades with more and more useful tools.
You can start using PocketPRP without any special training as it optimized for usability.
To start we recommend that you create a profile from MyPRP (mandatory for registering). Your
information remains confidential & is not shared for sending spam emails. Profile is used to provide
location based services, track you purchase/subscription, provide instant support, solve registration
issues etc.

2. Travel
2.1 Itinerary /Travel Manager
Itinerary allows you to create trips wherein you can create different lists such as Flights, cars, Lodgings etc. which
will help you manage your travel plans.
You can change the view by tapping on the bar as shown below. Default trips folder will be displayed which
contains sample itineraries.

2.1.1 Auto Itinerary from confirmation emails (GOLD)


Auto updating itinerary from confirmation emails.
How it works : -

Step 1. Forward your confirmation emails (English & European Languages) to trips@pocketprp.com from your PRP
profile email ID. A default name will be assigned to the trip unless specified in the Subject of the forwarded emails.
Mention the trip name in the Subject of the email in case of multiple confirmation emails of a single trip. e.g.
Subject : London Trip (June 2009).
You can also request modification or insertion of new transport or accommodation in an existing itinerary.
Step 2. A email will be sent when the itinerary is created on the server & ready to import.
Step 3. Check for the created trip inside Auto Itinerary in PRP XChange module & import it to your device. You
require to create a profile or login to your account through MyPRP before you can start importing your online
itineraries. Visit PRP Itinerary Module to view your trip details.

2.1.2 Creating & Managing a Trip in PocketPRP

To create a new trip, select the New Trip option from the
menu (Image 2.1.1).
Enter the new trip name.
To rename a trip, select the trip and select Properties option
from the context menu. Enter a new name and tap on ok.

To delete a trip, select Delete trip option from the menu and
tap on ok.

2.1.3 Creating & Managing Itinerary


After the trip is created you can start by creating your itinerary by entering different lists within the Trip like flight,
Cars, Hotels etc.
To create a new itinerary
Select a Trip.
Select the New option from the menu.
Select type of item to be added into the Itinerary.

2.2 Flight Status, Alerts & Availability (GOLD)
Adding new Flight Details

To add a new flight record select New Record from the menu.
Enter all flight details.
You can also edit the list of airlines, Coach etc. by selecting
Edit Values from the list.
To Copy/Paste a value use the cut, copy/paste function from
Module menu.
Tap on back button to save the record and exit the item edit
view.

Flight Status
To get the flight status, select flight status from the Module menu. Enter Airline Code, flight no. and date to get the
flight status.

Flight Alerts
Flight alerts provides the current information about the
flights arrival time and delay.
To receive alerts for a flight

Click on
button in the item view.
Fill in the details as shown in the Screen shot.
Tap on Set Alert.

NOTE: - Flight status, Flight Alert & Flight availability


are available only with the gold subscription i.e. you
need to have a valid subscription.

Check the next flight availability on the route specified.

Enter the Departure Airport Code.


Enter the Arrival Airport Code.
Tap on the Get Flight to see all the flights available.

You can add/Edit note to the itinerary/ list and view


the note by selecting Note View from the sub menu.

2.3 World Clock


World clocks with the Home clock. You can view the Date, Time, Day & Temperature with Icon for each city.
Note: The Home clock always displays your system time.
Switching between cities/ changing a city.

You can change the city by Tapping on the city and selecting a city from the list.
Tap on city name to select a
different city.

You can change the temperature measurement units by selecting the either Temperature in Celsius or
Temperature in Fahrenheit.
Tap on refresh to get the current date, time and weather information.
Tap on World Day and Night Map to view the day and night map.

Note: After selecting the measurement unit i.e. Celsius or Fahrenheit, you need to refresh to apply the changes.

By selecting a location on the map, the city name and the time will be displayed.

2.5 Unit Converter

This module of unit converter offers a very


comprehensive collection of properties with respective
units. A very useful utility to Convert Values from one
unit to another. Following are the steps for Converting
Values.

Choose a property from the list.


Choose a unit from & enter the value.
You can see the converted To unit values for
all the units in that property.
Scroll with the touch view to see the values.
Go to Menu -> Find to find the unit you are
looking for or Menu - > Hide / Show to hide
non frequently used units.

2.6 Currency Converter

2.7 Clothing Converter


Clothing converter makes shopping abroad easy with its comparison chart for 8 clothing categories across 4
regions. There are various clothing categories to choose from for men, women and children.
You can select clothing categories from the drop down list.

2.8 Tip & Tax Calculator

This module allows calculating Tip & Tax amount quickly. Its interface is very easy and convenient to use. It
includes some features:

Quickly itemize bills to split them fairly between friends.


Fast numeric keypad entry for all numeric fields
Easy to use interface.
Use Tip Calculator to calculate the tip for: Servers, Bar tenders, Taxi driver etc
Tax Calculation.

To calculate tip and tax:


Enter the bill amount, No. of persons, Tip percentage, tax percentage.
Tap on Calculate
The amount per person and the total bill amount will be displayed.

2.9 Dialing Codes


This module displays international dialing codes, US Area codes and Canada Area Codes (Fig.11.2). You can also
search the required area code either by location or by prefix (As Shown in Fig. 11.3).

3. City Info
Overview
City Info is beyond weather updates for a particular geo location. 52000+ location information at your finger tips.
Get recent pictures posted on Flickr for that Geo location /City. Current news feed for that city which will keep you
updated. 10 Day weather forecast etc.

You can add any number of cities. It may take several minutes to download weather & other information for the
first time after adding a new city or on update depending on the connection.

City Weather provides you with Live Weather Reports, Forecasts for 10 days, Satellite imagery and all other
important weather related information.

3.3 City News


City news gives you latest news of the city on single tap. A new RSS dynamic feed is created from the City Info
directly into PRP News. You can later download (update) the feeds & know whats happening in the city you are
visiting or planning to visit.

4. PRPList
4.1 List Manager
PRPList allows you to Control, Customize & Manage your lists.

4.2 Creating & Managing Folders:

To create a new Folder, select the New Folder option from the Module menu shown in fig 4.2(a).
Enter the new Folder name shown in fig 4.2(b).
You can Cut, Copy & Paste a Folder from the main menu or the context menu. Fig 4.2(c).

4.3 Creating & Managing Lists:


The list can be created with the help of list wizard. Lists can be created within any # of nested folders.
To create a new List

Select the New List option from the Module menu as shown in fig 4.3(a).
Select type of List to be added into the list as shown in fig 4.3(b).

A List of default columns is available. You can add new columns to the
list or Edit/Remove columns.
You can modify the Column, Font, and Order of Columns even after
creating the list from the wizard. For more information see the 4.6 List
Properties section.
Each item in the List will inherit the List Card View. You can customize
the Card View of the List (Default - inherited by list items).
By selecting On Card for a particular Column/Field will display the
Column/Field on the Card view as shown in fig 4.3(c).

4.4 Creating and managing Items:

To add item to the List select the New Item option from the menu as shown in fig 4.4(a).
Tap on fields tab. See fig 4.4(b).
Tap on OK to save & return to the Card View fig 4.4(c).
Card view is quick view of a particular item.

Following are some more Functions that you can perform on the List
1. Select All: This will select all the items of the List.
2. Check Selected Item(s): This will check only selected
item(s) in the Selection bar in case there is a Check
(Yes/No) Column is available in the List. You can load the
Selection bar from View-> Multi Select Bar menu. Please
see fig 4.4(d).
3. Uncheck Selected Item(s): Similar to Check Selected
items, you can uncheck selected items from the List.
4. Delete: This will delete the items selected in the
Selection Bar.
5. Duplicate: Duplicate the selected item.

Multi Select Bar :

Use the Multi Select Bar to select the items from the list in order
to perform any function on the selected items. .
Select View->Multi Select Bar from module menu.

4.5 More tools to Manage List:


Following functions are available for any Folder/List :

4.6 List Properties:


List Properties allow you to...
1. Change List Icon.
2. Set the default Card layout for all the Items in the list.
3. Set default values for all the items. For example if you enter any data in a particular field (column), this data
will be available in that field when go on to add a new Item.
4. Set note to the list.
5. Set/Change list Password.
6. Set List Caption
Similarly to change icon of Folder selects the Folder Properties from the menu or by Tap & Hold on the Folder.
Choose from the list of icons displayed.

5. Wallet

5.1 Introduction
Wallet is a secure Personal information Manager with 256-bit AES Encryption.

5.2 Creating Wallet Cards:

Create a new wallet card by selecting New Card from the sub menu
A list of Card template will be displayed as Tree View showed above.
After you have selected the Template & the Next button for setting
default values, changing card layout, setting password etc. Please see
the Wallet Card Properties section 5.4 for more information on this.

5.3 Managing Wallet Cards:


Card View

Information is displayed on a Card View & it can be customized to


make it similar to the actual Card
To customize the card select Edit from the menu & then in the Card
View uncheck Use Template checkbox. Edit button will be activate as
soon as you uncheck the Use Template checkbox.
Here you can customize the Card Layout by moving the items on the
card.
To change font, color, Hide/Show title of item, Hide/Show a item on
the card tap on the Edit Button.

1. Show Title: Select the Column & select/deselect Show Title to
Hide/ Show field name/title on the Card.
2. On Card: Select the Column & select/deselect On Card to Hide/
Show item/field value on the Card.
3. Choose Font: Set font for respective Field/Column as to be displayed
on the Card

5.4 Wallet Card Properties:

You can access properties of Card from the Context Menu or the Main Menu as shown in fig 5.4(a).
The Property window will appear as shown in fig 5.4(b).

Wallet Properties allow you to...


1. Change Card Icon.
2. Set the default Card layout.
3. Set default values for all the items. For example if you enter any data in a particular field (column), this data
will be available in that field when go on to add a new Item.
4. Set note to the list.
5. Set/Change Card Password.
6. Set Card Name

6. Templates Wallet Card/List


To view Card Templates select View --> Template from menu.
List of templates will generate. Please see fig 6(a).
The card layout, fields/columns, default values & other properties of a
template can be inherited from the template to any New Card.

Edit Card View
1. Show Title: Select the Column & select/deselect Show Title to
Hide/ Show field name/title on the Card.
2. On Card: Select the Column & select/deselect On Card to Hide/
Show item/field value on the Card.
3. Choose Font: Set font for respective Field/Column as to be displayed
on the Card
4. Up: Move column up in the order as to be seen in the Edit View or
Details view.
5. Down: Move column down in the order as to be seen in the Edit View
or Details view.
6. Add: Add new column to the List/Card
7. Edit: Edit column of the List/Card
8. Delete: Edit column from List/Card

Copy values, Load URLs or Hide/Unhide password by using the Tap & Hold
function on the card.

6.1 Setting/Changing Password

To assign password to list/wallet cards, select the list/wallet from the


Context menu (tap & hold on the list/wallet cards).
Select properties. Tap on Set to set the password.

Set / Change Password.

You can Set/Change password for the list by selecting Set


Password/Change Password either from the Menu or from the
Context menu (tap & hold on the list).
With the Generate password option you can generate random
passwords.
Set Hint for the password. This will be required to recall the
password in case you have forgotten it.
You can see fig 6.1(b) for the same.

6.2 Password Generator


To generate a password:

Set your criteria for the password as shown.


Select Generate.
Copy the Generated password or Generate a new one.
This can also be used to generate password for any login e.g.
Email accounts, IPins etc. & not only List or Wallet.

To add a stock quote to your portfolio, tap on New from the
Module menu, enter the symbol and then tap on Add.

To update the stock quotes tap on update.

8.1 Overview

8.2. Creating new Channels


Add channels to start with using PRPNews. Following are the steps
to add a new Feed.
To add a new channel:

Select new from the menu.


Select Feed Source.

Online catalog:
Online Catalog consists a list of Feeds based on popularity and
different categories and subcategories. You can also add feeds
other than preloaded with the package as shown in the
RSS/Atom feed URL section.

To select a channel, check the channel that you want. You can
choose multiple channels at one time.
After selecting the channels, select Options -> Finish from the
menu.

RSS/Atom feed URL

Add more feeds other than the comprehensive collections of popular


feeds available in the Online Catalogue.
Select RSS/Atom feed URL from the Feed Source screen. Enter
the Feed URL & provide a Name for the Feed.
Tap on Check Channel Name button to retrieve the name for the
channel.
Tap on options -> Finish.

Dynamic feed
Dynamic feeds from Google, Altavista .. etc. Simply select the
Provider & enter the search topic. All the feeds related to the topic
will be available.
Steps :

Select provider.
Enter a Query i.e. Enter the keyword related to the topic of your
interest e.g. sports, business etc.
Provide a name for the new feed.
Tap on Options -> Finish.

Deleting Feeds
To delete a feed use the context menu i.e. Tap and Hold on the feed and select Delete.

8.3. Updating Channels


After adding a new feed, update the feed in order to get the latest
articles/feeds.
You can update a single feed by using the context menu (Tap and
Hold on the channel).

Note: During the update process you will be able to continue reading the offline articles.

9. Keyboard
9.1. Overview: Keyboard is a software input method that allows entering text on Pocket PC from a full screen QWERTY keyboard
It has keys large enough to be typed with finger tips.
Since the keyboard can be operated with both hands, it is very convenient to enter large amounts of text using Keyboard.

9.2. Software Features:9 Full Screen Mode:


This keyboard works in full screen mode so you can use the entire Pocket PC screen area to type text.
The full screen mode allows you to type with your finger tips
Keyboard is a standard QWERTY keyboard that was specially designed for finger-tip typing and it has also passed a good
deal of usability testing

9.3. Preferences:Skin:
In this dialog you can select a skin for your Full Screen Keyboard
application.
All the installed skins can be selected from the drop-down list.
The currently selected skin is displayed in the center.

Select String Font Type from the drop down list.
Select String Font Size.
Checked the style you want to apply.

Sound:

To select Sound, Tap on


fn key --> Setting --> Sound.
Select one of the Default, No sound, and any number of your
personal customized schemes.
According to a chosen scheme you will see sounds for the input
events enabled or disabled for editing.
If you create your own sound scheme, select a sound from the
corresponding list of the input events.
For any chosen sound you may play it by tapping the play
near it.
Tap stop to stop playing.

Keyboard:
On the Keyboard tab you can configure the following features of Keyboard:
To select Keyboard, Tap on

fn key --> Setting --> Keyboard.

Character Repeat:
Repeat rate (ch/s): The number of characters entered in a second when the key is pressed for along time
Repeat delay (ms): The time interval to wait before the character repeating starts.
Another kind of options you can customize here is dealing with button press
Visualization:
Pressing buttons: If selected, the pressed button will be highlighted. Please keep in mind that if you
unselect this check box then it will save you some additional memory and speed up the typing process.
This figure illustrates the above explanation.

9.4. Using Keyboard:The Edit Box:


All the letters you type with Keyboard appear in the edit box in the top
You can select certain parts of the text in the edit box dragging the stylus over it and use Backspace key to
erase it.
You can also use Clear from the menu. Select certain parts of the text in the edit box dragging the stylus

General Using:
Like an ordinary keyboard, Keyboard has several registers.
To switch between registers you can use Shift/Caps and

To enter capital letters or special symbols in the top row of keys (numbers) use

Shift or Caps

keys.
Because you cannot press two parts of a touch-screen you wont be able to press a key holding down Shift
like on a hardware keyboard. Instead, you should press Shift and then release it and press a key Shift key
will be highlighted until you press some other key, indicating the next key pressed will be shifted.

Like any other list or card, you can import the Auto created itinerary (online) directly to PocketPRP.

10.2 Expense Reports (GOLD)


Like any other list, you can import the Auto created expense reports (online) to PocketPRP.

11. My PRP
11.1 Installation
Requirements:

You need to have MS ActiveSync Software on your desktop PC and make sure your device is connecting
with Desktop PC.

.Net Framework
To install the .net framework, check the NetCF option while installing the program, selected by default.
Alternately you can download & install the .Net Framework from the following links in case the system
prompts for missing runtime files.

Steps to Install PocketPRP.

You need to have MS ActiveSync Software on your device and make sure your device is connecting with
Desktop PC.
Run PocketPRP.exe and follow instructions.
When finished, go to Start Menu>>Program, here you will see the Icon of PocketPRP.

Note: If you have downloaded a CAB file then copy that file to Windows Mobile device & tap on it to start the
installation.

Steps to Uninstall PocketPRP program.


To remove the product from your Pocket PC:
Go to Start menu >> Settings.
Select System Tab and tap on Remove Programs.
Select PocketPRP from the list and tap on the Remove button.
Choose Yes to confirm removing.
Similarly you can uninstall all the PRP programs one-by-one.

11.2 Profile
On launching Pocket PRP for the first time, My profile page will be
displayed as shown in the screen shot. You need to fill in your details
and tap on Done in order to create your profile.
To Edit your profile select My PRP from the menu
Tap on profile from the list.
