Course Description:
PreAlgebraisanintroductiontobasicalgebraconceptsandareviewofarithmeticalgorithms.Thecourse
isdesignedtohelpstudentsovercomeweaknessinpreparationinmathematics,emphasizingtheconcepts
necessarytobesuccessfulinAlgebraIandII.Thecoursehelpsstudentstodevelopgoodmathematical
studyskillsandlearningstrategiesasanintegralpartofthiscourse.Thecoursebeginswithabriefreview
ofthenumbersystemandoperationswithwholenumbers,fractions,decimal,positiveandnegative
numbers.Eventuallycoveringrationalandlinearexponents,rations,proportionsandpercentage:solving
simpleandcomplexequationswithonevariable.
