Unit III: Biological Bases of Behavior

General Advice:
Welcome to the beginning of the real science part of Social Science! This is a big unit with lots of
information, but it will be a very fun and fascinating one as well!
There are 76 Vocabulary Terms (yes that is a large amount). There are 13 days before the vocabulary is due. If
you break those terms down and do a few each day, that number becomes far more manageable. So if you start
doing 7 terms each night, you would be done before October 3rd and wouldnt have to cram it all on a Monday
night.
Just like in the real world, try and do your best to break down your big tasks into smaller tasks to make them
seem a little easier. Also, complete the Reading Guides as you read*! These will serve to guide your reading and
make sure that you are picking up on key points and concepts, and will act as a completed study guide for when
the test day finally rolls around.
Also, study each night of this unit and review your notes. Many of you are the Im-going-to-wait-until-thenight-before-to-study type of people (I was like that in high school too). But if you review each day and spend
just 20 minutes studying each night, that turns out to be 460 minutes over this Unit, which is over 7 HOURS OF
STUDYING by the time the test rolls around. Work a little each night, so that way you dont have to stay up all
night on October 12th. Also, you learn/remember things better when you actively rehearse them each day!
*Pay attention to the Modules listed on the calendar. They are due the day they are listed and are fair games for
a reading quiz.
