DipperDex Level Indicator

Overview
Each indicator tube is 3ft in length. The standard kit contains 2 tubes which means that for a 6ft high tank
the water will be about 6 above the bottom of the tank when the indicator is at its lowest position. For
an 8ft tank the reserve level would be about 1ft 9. There is an optional upgrade that adds an additional
3ft tube to the kit suitable for tanks up to 9ft in height.

Step 1 Cut a hole in top of the tank

Choose a position on the tank roof for the DipperDex. It is important that you are able to reach the
bottom end of the pole assembly, as you will have to attach the float later (step 7). Cut a hole with a
diameter of about 1.6 into the tank. This hole should be just big enough to accommodate the DipperDex
sleeve that holds the indicator tube.

Step 2 Install the sleeve assembly

Insert the sleeve into the hole and adjust the angle bracket by bending it so that it can be fixed to the roof
using the two stainless steel screw that have been supplied.

Step 3 Install the two stays

Bend the stays outwards and adjust the ends of the stays by bending them to match the roof slope. Ensure
that the sleeve is vertical prior to drilling any holes. Attach with the stainless steel screw supplied.

Step 4 Fill gap with sealer

Fill the gap between the sleeve and the tank with a sealer such as silicone.

Step 5 Connect the indicator tubes

Connect the upper and lower tubes to each other by aligning them one at a time to the double-ended
connector. Use a rubber hammer or a steel hammer with a piece of wood to protect the tube ends. Ensure
that the other end is also protected when hammering the tubes together. Be careful to protect the male
thread on the bottom tube. Tip: drill a hole in a piece of wood to accommodate the male thread.

Step 6 Install indicator tube

Insert the joined tube into the mounted sleeve. Make sure that the male thread is pointing down.

Step 7 Attach float

Screw the float onto the male thread at the bottom of the indicator tube.

Step 8 Attach top indicator

Install the top indicator by pressing the tapered peg into the top of the tube.
