Notes:

A place I found interesting/ fascinating/appealing during my stay in

Langkawi is the Black Sand Beach. The sand on the beach is black as though
someone had burnt it.
Another wonderful/marvelous attraction is the Langkawi Bird Bark. It is
a fabulous / gorgeous bird sanctuary and home to many rare and
beautiful/stunning birds.
The fascinating/captivating/enthralling Langkawi Underwater World is
actually an aquarium built under the sea. All types of gorgeous fish can be
seen swimming behind glass walls and above ceilings in the aquarium.
I would recommend visiting Langkawi to all members of the society.
Question 1
It was some time after midnight. Andrew was having a drink in his
kitchen. While sipping his glass of water, he glanced/looked out of the
window. He was shocked/stunned/ astounded/flabbergasted/ dumbstruck to
see a burglar climbing/clambering over the fence into Encik Nasirs house.
He immediately called/contacted the police.
The burglar was about to leave Encik Nasirs house when he
found/discovered the police waiting for him outside. He was
arrested/apprehended/detained and taken to the police station.
Encik Nasir was grateful/thankful to Andrew for his quick/swift/speedy
action. He praised/commended/complimented Andrew for being a good and
caring neighbour.
Question 2
Fanny was watching a horror film late one night. When the film ended,
she went into her room. However, she was too
frightened/terrified/horrified/petrified to close her eyes.
She imagined that there were terrifying/horrifying/petrifying ghosts in
her room. Suddenly,/Out of a sudden/ Abruptly, she heard a
howling/wailing/shrieking/screeching/shrilling noise outside followed by a
tapping sound on her window. Fanny screamed/shrieked/screeched
/wailed/cried as loudly as she could.
Her father rushed/dashed/darted/bolted into her room to investigate.
He drew apart the curtains and showed Fanny that it was only a branch
tapping on her window and the wind blowing strongly/gustily. Fanny was

relieved/was overwhelmed by relief and promised never to watch horror films

again.
