Why Update Ann Morrison Park?

Through th e Yea rs : Ye s t e rd a y, To d a y, To m o r ro w

Smoke Free Zone

Smoking is prohibited on the Greenbelt and all other city parks
(except for designated areas in Julia Davis and Ann Morrison parks).

Boise River Greenbelt

Historical Education Project
As it traverses the valley, the Boise River Greenbelt
becomes a four-season classroom for learning about the
areas diverse cultural and environmental past. Look for
a series of historic signs that teach us about the Native
American presence in the area, Chinese gardens, early air
service, the Davis apple orchards, the founding of Boise
Cascade and much more. Originally installed in 1990 for the
states centennial celebration, the signs were refurbished in
2013 for the City of Boises 150-year anniversary.

THE RIBBON OF JEWELS

The Ribbon of Jewels is a series of parks along the Boise River
Greenbelt deeded to the city by families and named for the families
esteemed matriarchs.
Ann Morrison Park was developed and then deeded to the City of
Boise by the Harry W. Morrison Foundation on June 7, 1959. The
153-acre park has served as a place of beauty, rest and recreation
for generations.

POSITIONING ANN MORRISON

FOR THE NEXT 50 YEARS
Since 1959, the park has seen the neighborhood grow and change.
The once industrial warehouse area has given way to the expanding
city, with housing, shopping and connections to a vibrant downtown
and Greenbelt. It is time to evaluate Ann Morrison Park as it has
evolved into a neighborhood park.
