*Problems are assigned from the 7th edition of Fluid Mechanics textbook by Munson et al.

Lab Report Policy:

Lab handouts will be posted on Blackboard. You need to have access to is during the lab.
Labs are due the session after they are assigned. A 10% per day deduction will occur with no credit after the
subsequent session.
Labs will be done in groups of 3-4.
Lab Reports done as an individual will not be accepted.
Groups are required to turn-in a hard copy of reports and email an electronic pdf to
abimbolahodonu@boisestate.edu in the format
Lab#_LastName1.Initial_ LastName2.Initial _ LastName3.Initial.pdf.
Ex: Lab1_Hodonu.S_Ravenhill.L_Wilkerson.D.pdf
Written reports will be in a long report format (An example will be available on Blackboard). They will consist
of a concise, but thorough, presentation of the experimental results followed by a detailed discussion of the
conclusions drawn from the results. The discussion/analysis will include a rigorous uncertainty analysis with
accompanying discussion of the impact of experimental uncertainty on the reliability of the results. Fully
annotated supporting documents will be included as appendices.
Attendance and participation are required for all the labs. 5 reports will be required. Additionally, the last lab will
not have a lab report.

Lab Quizzes: Problems will be assigned for every lab. Students are required to do assigned problem before coming to
lab. Similar questions will be assigned as pop quizzes throughout the course of the semester. In labs where a pop quiz is
assigned, the final grade for that lab will be 75% report and 25% quiz grade

Group work Policy: Team work for laboratory experiments is a good example of team work in the workplace.
Every team member is responsible to take part in conducting the experiment, data collection and analysis. Each
member is expected to make meaningful and equal contributions to the written report. At the end of each report
please clearly state the contribution of each team member and make sure all team members agree and sign the
report. Complaints on lack of effort will result in an evaluation of individual contributions and potential
deduction of points to the individual at fault. However, your report is your own. An incomplete report will be
graded as such regardless of students involved.
Make-up Policy: You are eligible for a make-up lab if you miss a scheduled lab because of a death in the
immediate family, serious illness, or military service, Students are responsible to inform the instructor of their
excused absence as soon as possible and your excused absence must be officially verified and documented in
writing to the instructor. If your excuse is acceptable, then youll be given a make-up lab during the
available lab sections.
Grading: Reports will be weighted equally.
