Air Conditioning And Mechanical Ventilation System

Method of Statement For Testing And Commissioning

1. Before the testing and commissioning for the air conditioning and mechanical ventilation
system being carried out, the following points must be observed and adhered to: -

a) The Wall-mounted Indoor Units and Outdoor Units had been properly installed
and the copper refrigerant piping and drainpipe connection works and wiring
termination works had been done. The refrigerant piping system had been purged
and the suction and discharge valve had been open.
b) MCB on the electrical distribution board must be at On position all the time to
get power supply to the system. It is important that the TNB permanent power
supply had been energized and is used for the testing and commissioning works,
as constant voltage supply is required for the proper function of the compressor.
2. All the doors and windows for the air conditioning areas are tightly closed. The
temperature reading for the particular areas being tested is taken as initial room
temperature. Switch on the wall-mounted air conditioners by pressing the on/off button
once for system operation at the wireless remote control. Now, the blower fan is in
operation and the compressor will be running after a few second. The settings at the
wireless remote control will be Cool mode, High Fan, 22 - 24 degree Celsius, and
Air swing is on.
3. Repeat the above process for each air conditioner to be tested. After 4 hours, record the
room temperature by using a sling psychrometer. Running ampere of the wall-mounted
air conditioner will be recorded by using a digital clamp meter. The pressure of the
refrigeration system will be measured by using a manifold gauge at the suction valve of
the air conditioner. The pressure reading should be in the range from 62 to 70 psi for a
refrigeration system to be performs in optimal condition. The air conditioner is precharged with R22. If the pressure is insufficient, to charge in the Gas R22 into the system
until the reading reaches the ranges as mentioned above.
4. Also, for each air conditioner, to check the condensate drainpipe discharge outlet to make
sure that the drainpipe is in good condition and the condensate water can flow smoothly
in to the discharge water outlet.
5. For each air conditioner that function properly, after record down the necessary data such
as room temperature, running ampere, system pressure, switch off the air conditioner and
the power supply.
6.

If the air conditioner malfunction, a throughout check need to be carried out to trouble
shoot that particular air conditioner so that it can perform properly. Repeat the above
process for this air conditioner to be tested.
