OBJECTIVE
INTRODUCTION
Fleet planning (selecting the right aircraft at the right time) is one of the most important
steps in the airline planning process. One of the most difficult decisions airline management
must make is weather to buy new aircraft or used aircraft and what type. Alternatively, they
must consider whether it makes better financial sense to modernize older aircraft already in
their fleet or to acquire aircraft from the outside. Fleet planning, in simple terms, needs to
answer two questions: Which aircraft are needed? And: When to acquire them? When
answering the Which-question an airline needs to consider a number of partly conflicting
selection criteria, including aircraft economics, technical, operational and environmental
performance and cabin comfort. Another important influencing factor is fleet commonality. It
describes the number of aircraft of the same type, the same aircraft family or the same
manufacturer in a fleet. When answering the When-question the airline will take into
account the development of demand for transport capacity, the age and cost of its current fleet
and the availability of new, more efficient aircraft. Airline fleet planning varies from airline to
airline, depending e.g. on the airlines business model and its operating characteristics.

CONCLUSION
For the conclusion, a suitable aircraft for route KUL LGK, LGK KUL,
KUL PEN, PEN KUL, is A330-200 and A320. The A320 is in widespread use around the
globe, with a range of up to 6,480 km. (3,500 nautical miles). The A320 typically seats 150
passengers in a two-class cabin or up to 180 in a high-density layout for low-cost and
charter flights. The A320s advanced technology includes the extensive use of weight-saving
composites, an optimised wing that is 20 per cent more efficient than previous designs. It is
the ideal size and has range capability for opening and developing new fleet.
The A330-200 is the shorter-fuselage variant of Airbus A330 twin-engine widebody family,
and has the versatility to cover all ranges from short-haul to true long-haul, with ideal sizing
for point-to-point operations. Accommodates 247 passengers in a comfortable three-class
cabin layout that provides more window and aisle seats in much quieter cabins. It is the ideal
size and cover all ranges from short-haul to true long-haul for opening and developing new
fleet services.
Moreover, the environmental performance of Airbus A320 powered by Pratt & Whitney
PurePower Geared Turbofan engines and state-of-the-art aerodynamics, both of which
help reduce its emissions below current and anticipated future regulatory levels. In addition,
A320 offers up to 20 per cent savings in fuel burn per seat and carbon dioxide emissions per
passenger will be approximately 25 per cent lower than current-generation aircraft in this
category, while exterior noise levels will be as much as 21 EPNdB (Effective Perceived Noise
Decibel) below ICAO Chapter 4 requirements.
Thus, based on analysis for new replacement fleet planning, the number of passenger seat in
daily is increase to between 200 to 400 passengers on 2017. The Ministry of Air Transport
predicts that the demand of domestic air movement of passenger is growing fast year by year.
