I. Objectives
At the end of a 60-minute period, the second year high school students are expected to do the following with 75%
proficiency:
1. Describe the value of organisms;
2. Determine the threats to biodiversity, and;
3. Appreciate the value of biodiversity.

Materials: Illustration/pictures, computer, LCD, white board marker and white board.

C. Motivation
Class I will show you pictures of different organisms. I
will give you three (3) minutes to study these pictures.
(The teacher will show pictures of different organisms on
screen.).

Each group will present their output. You will share your
ideas with your classmates.

because they have no other source of their daily needs.

F. Generalization
Class I will show you a picture of various organisms
(The teacher will show the pictures of the organisms).
Pls. pay attention on the pictures. Just consider that
these pictures composed one big ecosystem and the
man is in the center of that ecosystem.

Yes, thats right. And what will happen if all plants will
die? (The teacher will removed all plants in the picture).
Sir all animals on that ecosystem will die because they have no
food and no source of oxygen. Flood and water shortage will also
devastate that ecosystem.

G. Application
Since you have no question, we will have an activity.
Each group will present a brief interview, play or a game
that reflects the importance of biodiversity and its
threats. I will give you five (5) minutes to prepare for
your activity and every group will be given two (2)
minutes to present their interview. Is that clear?
