Skills:
Identify and master structural and constitutive elements of the language of painting
Knowing and mastering techniques, processes, materials and equipment in the exercise of painting through experimentation and
research within the workshop practice
Identify, prepare and use different types of supports for conducting paint
Acquire and deepen knowledge of the different genres of pictorial production
Knowing the fundamentals of the color
Know basic concepts of composition, rules and canons of painting
Make pictorial projects
Knowing and mastering specific vocabulary and develop the critical skills on the phenomenon of painting
Organize the workshop space and master and apply methodological procedures and health and safety
Reasoned reflection on the work done
Contents:
The painting as a language: conceptual, materials, technical, formal and cognitive components
Initiation to the practice of painting: technological foundations and workshop
Materials, instruments and media and their expressive potential
Preparation and use of supports and bases
Performing different pictorial project
Formal, technical and expressive aspects (color, blends, brush strokes, textures, layers / burnish)
General grounds on Color: physical, chemical, structural and expressive
Composition concepts: basic concepts, methodologies, rules and canons
Major themes and genres of painting (landscape, portrait, still life. Figuration and Abstraction)
Development of personal expression: technical, cognitive, communicative and expressive painting
Analysis and selfreflection on the work done
Portfolio.

Visits to exhibitions
Monitoring individual projects
Practical activities leading to the acquisition of new knowledge of specific language of art
Practical research and project methodologies
Individualized monitoring during the class period
Assessment:
Projects presentation.
The frequency and communications.
The assessment attends the participation, number of projects, their technical and aesthetic quality.
Participation and involvement of students in the sessions.
Practical exercises and projects for implementation / testing knowledge taking into account its
technical and aesthetic quality.
Realization of descriptive memoranda and portfolio.
