So what is a Militia?
The term militia (pronounced /Mil-i-Sha/) is commonly used today to
refer to a military force composed of ordinary citizens to provide
defense, emergency law enforcement, or paramilitary service, in
times of emergency without being paid a regular salary or
committed to a fixed term of service.
In more understandable terms it is a group of
people who form together to assist those in
need of emergency support in times of
need and who enforce the law where
necessary.
So Why join?
Well be enlisting as a Militia man in any of the
possible sections you are providing a great
service to your nation and are putting your name
down to enter training which could one day save
your life or the life of your loved ones.

But don’t just think about this in a selfish way, you

would also be offering support to all the other
occupants of the Island and help in times of need.
Consider it a volunteer job where you can give
something back to anononia.
What Can I do?
Well no actual skills are required. All training is supplied by our knowledgeable
staff and you are put onto a short training program to make sure your as up
to date as possible when the time comes to put your skills into action.
There are four different sections of enlistment each one offering new and
exciting opportunities and different sorts of qualifications.
You Can be:

Emergency/First Aid
Military Defense and Policing
Disaster Response
Naval Force and Sea Rescue
Emergency First Aid
The Emergency First Aid Section would supply a ‘Medi-Vac’ team to
remove those injured from Anononia and treat for wounds. They are
also trained in the giving of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and
other life saving procedures.
There job may Entail:

 Movement of the sick or wounded to a proper aid station

 Delivery of emergency first aid and first aid supplies

 Training to those wishing to learn basic first aid

 A emergency medical team in times of great disaster (Hurricane,

Storms, Earthquake, Military Assault)
Military Defense and Policing
They would supply a armed and unarmed section to aid in the capture and detention of
criminals as well as the primary defense of Anononia from enemies both foreign and
domestic.
There job would entail:

 The Capture and tracking of known criminals.

 The Apprehension and Detention of criminals before trial and to aid in the carrying
out of there punishment. (Helping to remove people from the Island)

 Proper firearms and Weapons training to civilians when requested. (To help others
to learn to hunt and shoot for defensive purposes)

 To protect the Island and the freedom of its Inhabitants should the need arise.

 To Assist in times of great disaster (Hurricane, Storm, Earthquake, Military Assault)

Disaster Response
The Disaster Response team would be called upon during times of natural disaster such
as storms and hurricanes to assist in the rebuilding of homes and government
property as well as in day to day life such as the putting out of uncontrolled fires and
assisting in search and rescue both on land and at sea.
There job would Entail:

 Strengthening and preparing people and buildings before storms and other natural
disasters.

 Helping to inform citizens of Anononia about how best to prepare and stock for
natural disasters including drought or bad crops.

 Help to rebuild society and fix housing and property after storms and disasters.

 To issue food and emergency rations after a storm to those who have lost there own
food stocks.

 To Assist other militia sections where required if the needs arises.

Naval Force and Sea Rescue
They would assist in the defense of Anononia and the protection of Anononian waters as
well as be our primary mode of transport to and from Belem to move supplies. On
top of this the Naval Force and Sea rescue section are required to aid in the search
and rescue of Anononian citizens lost at sea or trapped in a sea related incident.
There Job would Entail:

 Collection and movement of peoples to and from belem

 Protection of Anononia and its territorial waters from foreign invasion.

 Aiding in search missions at sea

 Helping in the rescue of missing persons both on land and at sea.

 Assisting in the mobilisation of the Military Defense and Police.

 Assisting in times of great need and natural disaster when required

How much ‘Work’ is it?
Now of course none of these are 'Full Time'
positions, you would be required to attend some
form of official training (Some longer than others
depending on what you want to do) and then the
amount of community service and work you do
would actually be down to yourself and how much
you are willing to work. We do ask that as a Militia
member you attempt to attend one training
session per month to make sure your skills are up
to date and to add further qualifications to your
already expanding militia resume.
What about in the future?
Well this would also allow those with the proper training and correct
mind set to give teaching to others interested in there subject and
eventually enlighten any children on the Island about the risks of thing
such as fire and weapons with the correct information. It would also
allow anyone on the Island who is interested in learning something
specific or who has a skill which could particularly aid the Island to
pass down the knowledge to others or in the case of someone wanting
to learn something specific it would make it easier for them to find
someone with the correct knowledge to aid them.

All in All the Militia is not a organisation just for ‘the now’ it is something
built which is designed to be built upon over time to expand its borders
into other sections and hopefully in the near future attempt to provide
complete safety and protection to the inhabitants of Anononia.
