GOD WANTED TO USE JOSEPH, SO HE TRAINED HIM IN MANY AREAS

Teachers to read bible scripture: <Gen 39-40>

Children to memorize bible scripture: <Gen 39:2>

Recap
Last week, we saw how God gave Joseph some dreams and because of those dreams, his brothers
wanted to kill him. Eventually Joseph was sold. However, as God wanted to use Joseph, no matter
how others wanted to harm him, God still protected him.
Introduction
Today, we see that Joseph was sold to a place called Egypt. He was sold to a very rich
family where he worked as a servant. However, because Joseph often saw that God was
with him, as he learned, he also obtained God’s wisdom to do the best in all the things that
were assigned to him. Because of that, the rich man left everything in the family under
Joseph’s charge. Later, the rich man’s wife accused Joseph of wanting to harm her. As a
result, Joseph was put into jail. Although Joseph was in jail, he was not upset and he
continued to see how God was with him. Therefore, he continued to receive God’s wisdom
and blessings. Because Joseph did everything well, the people in jail also let him do all
things, big and small. No matter what situation Joseph was in, God blessed him and allowed
him to learn the most, because one day, God wanted to use him to accomplish the greatest
thing, which was to manage an entire country, Egypt, and through that, to rule over the
whole world later on.

1. Because God wants to use us, He will surely train us

1) God has an important plan for everyone who knows and believes Jesus Christ. He
wants to use us.
2) Therefore, God will definitely train us. He wants us to learn many things at home, in
school and in church.
3) After training us, we will be like Joseph who was able to do the best in everything. No
matter where God places us (be in at home, in school or with our friends), others can
see that God is with us.

2. God uses problems and the things that we do everyday to train us, and teach us to
learn God’s wisdom
1) Look at Joseph: God trained him everyday. No matter where he was, God was with
him and had the best plan for him, to direct him to learn God’s wisdom. It is the same
for us who want to be like Joseph. [Children, do you want to be Joseph?]
2) Sometimes, we encounter problems (become unhappy, get beaten by parents, have
difficulties in studies, our friends dislike us, we fall ill), but we do not have to be upset
or frightened. The devil, Satan wants to use problems to deceive us. At such times,
when we pray in the name of Jesus Christ and rely on God, Satan will go away and
we will receive even more blessings.
3) Sometimes, God uses the things we do everyday to teach us God’s wisdom (through
listening to God’s words in Sunday school, our daily studies, what our parents teach
us everyday). Therefore, when we attend Sunday school, we must pay attention to
the word of God that the teachers tell us. God allows us to study everyday, and we
should be hardworking in our learning. Otherwise, we will not be able to learn God’s
wisdom.
3. After God has trained us, He will surely use us to do greater things
1) After God has trained us, we will become the best kid at home, always helping our
parents; we will be the smartest student in school, always learning studiously; we will
become the Sunday school student who most enjoys listening to God’s words.
2) After God has trained us, no matter where we go, or what problems we face, we will
have God’s wisdom. Therefore, the devil, Satan is not able to deceive us. The more
problems the devil, Satan gives us, the more and greater blessings we will receive.
3) After God has trained us, there will be greater and more important things He wants
us to do later on. Joseph was trained by God and after he acquired God’s wisdom,
he used this wisdom to rule over the whole Egypt and to save the whole world. This
was because there was no one else more intelligent than he was. Likewise, when we
acquire God’s wisdom, God will also use us to save and help many other people and
lead them to know Jesus Christ and receive eternal life.
*Therefore, how does God train us today? [Help them to confirm and discover. Base
your activity on this.]
