Basic Reaper Training Guide

This document will serve as a guide for potential Training Battalion
Instructors, Squad Leaders, or other types of hosts looking for a strong
training session. Training Battalion Instructors will need to follow this guide
fairly closely during your sessions. Lets jump right into what exactly is in the
Basic Reaper Training session.
First off, remember that this session is designed for brand new recruits,
or still fresh members just out of probation. This is an introductory level
session meant to welcome them to the many different facets of the clan, its
structure, in-game tactics, and more. Lets start with the first topic of
discussion in this session.
1. The Reaper Division overview. This will introduce new recruits and
members alike to the clan as a whole, on a basic level.
- Begin with a brief history of the clan.
- Describe our Oath and Creed, and what it means to be a Reaper.
- Describe the organizational structure i.e. Squads, Companies, Battalions,
etc.
- Describe the ranking structure i.e. L & R system, Enlisted, NCO, & CO
system, etc. Give examples such as your own rank and status, or
examples of prominent members.
- Describe the leadership structure i.e. Squad Sub Leaders, Squad
Leaders, Company Commanders, etc. Give examples by telling them
about the Company Commanders, Bear and I, and the Specialty Battalion
Commander.
- Describe special sections i.e. RSOT, Clan War Teams, etc.
- Give sources of this information where they can read up in more detail
on these topics.
2. Tactical Overview. This will introduce them to our in-game tactics and
expectations. Remember, only basics here. Basically just let them know
that these things exist, some examples, then let them know where to find
more information. ARTs will cover these topics in greater detail.
- Briefly describe the Field Bible and where to find it.
- Introduce the Fire Team idea and structure i.e. Fire Team Leader, then
possible sub-divisions like Buddy Teams.
1

- Introduce the Buddy Teams i.e. how they are sub-divisions of the Fire
Team. Give some examples of Buddy Team structure and uses.
- Introduce the Movement Types. Give examples.
- Introduce the number designations for Fire Team formations i.e. the 3-12 or 4-2. Describe what the numbers represent, give examples of FT
formations.
- Introduce callouts and overall tactical communication and their types.
I.e. Fire Team callouts, and personal action communication. Give examples
of each.
3. In-Game Practice. This is pretty easy. Take what you have taught, and
employ it in-game.
- Focus on use of communication, teamwork, and basic Fire Team
formations.
- Assign teams, assign a Fire Team Leader.
- Play CTF & SND to practice Fire Team callouts and formations.
- Buddy Teams should NOT be focused on much at all during this time. Just
the Fire Team basics.
4. The End. It is at this time that you can either wrap up the session and
part ways, or finish the session with a fun game of whatever mode you
wish. Be sure that everyone is clear, ask if anyone has any questions and
answer them if possible.
A clear understanding of the Field Bible, and this clan is necessary in
order to become a good Instructor. It can be slightly challenging at times,
especially if you have a rowdy couple of participants. This session should not
take much longer than an hour and a half. Unfortunately much of it is just
you talking to them, but try and work in game time where possible. Keep in
mind that this will extend the session time however, and the main goal of
this session is for every new member to be on the same basic level of
knowledge and training before continuing on into the clan. Members often
times will not read the material I have written for them, so these lecture type
sessions are required to ensure that our message gets to them clearly.
