Selection of the Correct Waterstops —
Sika® Waterbar
Introduction
Wiaterstops ar used forthe waterproof sealing of construction and
‘expansion joints against water penetration from percolating ground
Water and water under hydrostatic pressure, as well as or surface /
‘end capping joints.
Joint waterstops in combination with watertight concrete constuction
techniques must ensure the watertghtness ofthe whole structure
‘There are standard international or national design standards and
requirements which must aways be complied with and maintained.
‘The correct selection of the most suitable expansion and constue-
tion joint waterstops is determined primarily by the anticipated water
pressure, joint movement requirements and the exposure of the joint
aterstop.
‘The maximum design water pressure resistance for each waterstop is
‘given in the folowing tables; these ae indicative figures based on our
‘experience and subject. tothe correct embedding of the waterstop into
the conerete structure. The nominal width ofthe joints should normally
'be 20 mm to 30 mm, dependent onthe spect waterstop and profl
tobe use.Waterstops for Expansion Joints Water sranue [Movant
