1. INTRODUCTION
ASSURE looks at the every learner in detail. For example, it is now state that
teachers must assess their students' knowledge and skills prior to instruction to
ensure that they differentiate instruction. That means that by understanding where
the learners are at the start of instruction, a teacher will make every effort to assist
all learners to be successful in their learning. This new direction supports teachers
position about knowing the learner. Knowing as much as possible about learners is
critical to design and implementation of instruction. Next knows the intended
expectations. No instruction should begin without everyone having a clear
understanding of what is supposed to happen in the instruction. That means if you
continue give them instruction, they might be lost or lose their focus on their
learning. And, especially in the schools today, as we edge closer to the 100% of all
students meeting or exceeding expectations. The final area is evaluation after they
are finished doing summative or formative test. From that, you can see which
learners have problem or do not. In this model helps teacher a lot in improvise their
teaching. And, ASSURE model provides teacher to incorporate this technology into
meaningful instruction.

CLOSURE
The ASSURE model serves as a guide for teachers and focuses on the
level of technological support applied. But, it's not about the technology and
media. It's about the learners and the important decisions we make as
designers and instructors to ensure successful learning opportunities.

intonation and able to produce simple creative works with guidance based on song.
Based on the selected learning standards, my group members and I began to formulate
two learning objectives. Therefore, we need to find activities that are suitable to our
objectives. Hence, we used internet to source for ideas to conduct our activities. Here, I
have enhanced my skills in Information, Technology and Communication (ICT) when I
23
started to explore some online games, using online software such as savefrom.com to
download video from Youtube.
Other than that in producing the video, the planning has involved the preparation
of scripts and props, assigning crews such as director, videographer and actors and the
setting of the video. Scripts were prepared according to the activity conducted which is
How to Make a Pop up Card. Since this video only used a few props so, we prepared
the props together. The quiet library was chosen as our video setting because we do not
want loud external noises. From the video making process, I have improved my ICT
skills in different areas. For examples, I have known the effective techniques and shot
such as panning, tilting and close up shot to take videos. Other than that, the task has
let me to enhance my video editing skills. By using Easy Video Maker, I have known the
way to put the text and adding soundtrack to the video.
In addition, the task has also required the students to produce the audio. During
planning phase, we made our decision in choosing the music background to be
incorporated in our video. Other than that, we chose a speaker to tell the instructions of
making the pop up card. In audio production, my ICT skills have improved in some
ways. For example, I know how to amplify the sound of my laptops microphone and I
was able to edit (join with background music) the audio by using the Wavepad Sound
Editor Software.
Moreover, in planning the electronic presentation, my group members and I did a
discussion to decide on the contents in our presentation and what presentation software
we want to use to present our contents. There are several alternatives to the common
Microsoft PowerPoint such as Prezi.com, Piktochart, Haiku Deck, Kingsoft and Google
Slides. However, we think Prezi.com is the best because it has a range of catchy and
colourful templates, interesting motions and it is users friendly. In making electronic
presentation, my ICT improvement is I have gained the skills to use more functions
available in Prezi.com.
Lastly, in producing the materials, the first planning involved the question on what
to produce. So, we referred to our lesson plan and we decided to create pop up cards

I have also became a more curious person, wanting to learn more and more
about how to manage technology towards a positive way in a classroom. With all the
skills that I have gained in this class, I believe I can be a teacher that is not only capable
of teaching the English subject, but also a teacher with a creative mind and capable of
manipulating the items around me to become useful and get the pupils to be interested
in my teaching. Plus, I with knowledge such as the CASPER concept that I will carry in
the school, I believe I am able to contribute in a great number of ways such as for
school murals, posters, advertisement and even become the advisory teacher for
students going for arts competition.
In conclusion, this class has done and given me a lot of knowledge than I would
have ever hoped for. I am very thankful to all my lecturer and friends that have guided
me along the way, and I hope to use all these knowledge that I have to become a
teacher that fit in this modern world, and I wish to never stop to learning and improving
myself to be the best teacher that will contribute something for the college and school.

Fifth, in order to compile the video to become only one video, we use a software; Easy
video maker. Using this software help us to compile the videos and render it as a video. After
that, we added and audio. We also use software to record the voice that we want. For example,
we want to record the narration of people, we can record our voice and put it together with the
video and it will act as an instruction for the video.
Sixth, after that, we do the lesson planning. The first idea that we want the pupils learns is
about how to make a pop-out card. Using the video as the presentation stage for the teaching
and learning will make it more interesting. Using the model ASSURE as the references, we have
analyse several details that need. Using ASSURE model help the teacher to rationalize the
materials used so that the teaching and learning will become more informative.
As a conclusion, in order to make a video, I have learn how to use different techniques and
movement that make the video more focus on the subject. For example, in our video, we use
boom movement to show clear vision how to paste a card onto another card. After that, using
video is an interactive ways to teach because they have something for the pupils to see and
hear.

Reflection
(NUR AFEEFA BT AHMAD FISAL)
We have been given two tasks which are group and individual task. In group
task, we are required to do lesson plan based on ASSURE model. Meanwhile, individual
task, we must do quiz and reflection. In group task, we focus on English subject and
speaking and writing for integrated skills. Then, we want to teach them grammar in
covertly and we focus on simple present tense. That is why we teach them on how to
make a pop up card. In processing to do the pop up card, we need to record and
compile it in a video. Creating a video is not an easy work for me as a beginner. But, our
lecturer, Madam Zainab has taught us the easiest way to create a video. I dont even
know how to shoot a video but after I learnt I know how to cut the video, put subtitle,
slower the motion and others. We also learnt about panning, boom, and tilting in
creating a video. In our video, we have applied all this aspects to make our video more
interesting and attractive. Moreover, before we create a video, we have been taught
how to take a photo in right way. We learnt about the third principle, middle shot, waist
shot and so many things. I have applied all the shots I learnt to make my photos
become more beautiful. Besides, we also get the opportunity to use camcorder which I
have never been used. Now, I know how to handle the camcorder wisely and I will own
it one day. Apart from that, knowing the learners in ASSURE model was grab my
attention because I feel that not all teachers give their times to analyze their learners.
So, in this model, the first thing teacher has to do is analyze learner. Basically, analyzing
learners is not an easy work because not all learners give their cooperation to the
30
teacher. But, whatever the excuses, teacher need to analyze learners in order to plan a
good strategies in his lesson. And, teacher must to state their objectives in his lesson.
This is because it is easy for teacher to achieve their goals and expectation.
Furthermore, teacher need to build an instructional bridge that will connect the two
points. Teacher may select available materials, modify existing materials, or design new
materials to help accomplish this task. After that, teachers role is to decide how the
materials will be used by the learners. And preview the materials and practice the
lesson. Last but not least, teacher has to evaluate all the aspects that teacher has been
applied to the learners. For example, did the objective meet the learners, did the
materials suit to the learners and so many more. In conclusion, ASSURE model is
helpful for designing courses using different kinds of media. This model assumes that
instruction will not be delivered using lecture/text book only.
