Mark 8:34-38
October 12, 2016
1. Our text passage really has more to do with being
a "disciple" of Christ than a soul-winner. How are
these two roles related? What are some terms of
discipleship, according to our text?
2. Read the Great Commission found in Matthew
28:19-20 and reiterated in Acts 1:8. What
exactly are we commanded to do? In what
practical ways are you taking steps to obey the
Great Commission?
3. Why do you think it is possible for a person to
become a Christian, live out the rest of his life, yet
never once have the privilege of leading a single
lost person to Christ? What might we do as a
church to prevent this from happening more often?
4. Our success at winning the lost to Christ begins
with our ability to recognize the value of a soul.
According to our text, just how valuable is every
person in the eyes of God? Are some people more
valuable than others? (See Acts 10:34.)
5. Review the story of the Philip and the Ethiopian
eunuch in Acts 8:26-40. How did the Holy Spirit
orchestrate this man's conversion? What role does
the Holy Spirit play in bring a lost person to Christ?
(See John 16:7-8 & John 6:44.)
6. According to Romans 10:17 and Isaiah 55:11,
what instrument does God use to produce saving
faith and draw the lost to Christ? What are some
practical ways to use God's Word in our soulwinning efforts?
