suffering with teething problems. Many people went out of their way to recommend the teething
formula and one tiny sugar pill popped onto his tongue had a miraculous effect. I then went on to
recommend them to everyone who had a teething baby in their family. When I trained in Nutritional
Medicine I was reintroduced to these bio-chemic remedies.
A couple of years ago I found that my muscles were very tired during my weight training so I checked
out what I required and within a couple of days I was sorted. I have also found the sinus formula
amazing for myself. These remedies work without producing any side effects or healing crisis.

Dr Schuesslers Bio-chemic Tissue Salts

required and within a couple of days I was sorted. I have also found the sinus formula amazing for
myself. These remedies work without producing any side effects or healing crisis. They are cheap,
effective and can be bought in Holland & Barrett stores although I discovered that many other
chemists have stopped selling them or only sell a couple. However Tesco stocks the hayfever remedy.
One of the brand names is New Era but any Schuesslers Bio Chemic Tissues Salts would be fine.
I reproduce below part of text for preparation of Bio-Chemic remedies, as described in Dr.
Schuessler's book, he is commonly know as the father/creator of Bio-chemic remedies.
Since the tissue salts are a part of our human cellular structure, there is no drug SIGNATURE
involved in transfer of drug signature, hence there is no constitutional altering or modifying being
done by the remedies or any aggravation or irritation to the vital force. It will cure and if the bio-salts
are inappropriate, the drug action will simply wean away, without curing.
Dr. Wilhelm Heinrich Schuessler was one of the outstanding intellects of the 19th century and a man
whose scientific vision was far ahead of his time. Dr. Schuessler was a doctor of medicine, a
physiological chemist and a physicist. As a practising physician, he was able to put his carefully
worked-out theories to the test and the brilliant results he achieved led to the formulation of his
unique system of cellular therapeutics, to which he gave his name Biochemistry.
The idea upon which Biochemic Therapeutics is based is the physiological fact that both the structure
and vitality of the organs of the body are dependent upon certain necessary quantities and proper
apportionment of its organic constituents. These remain after combustion of the tissues and form the

ashes.

The inorganic constituents are, in a very real sense, the material basis of the organs and tissues of the
body, and are absolutely essential to their integrity of structure and functional activity. According to
Schuesslers theory, any disturbance in the molecular motion of these cell salts in living tissues,
caused by a deficiency in the requisite amount, constitutes disease, which can be rectified and the
requisite equilibrium re-established by administering the same mineral salts in small quantities.
This is supposed to be brought about by virtue of the operation of chemical affinity in the domain of
histology; and hence this therapeutic procedure is styled by Schuessler the Bio-chemic method, and
stress is laid on the fact that it is in harmony with well-known facts and laws in physiological
chemistry and allied sciences.

In Bio-chemic system as the principle is based on deficiency of the salts, we can use more than one
remedies at a time, unlike homoeopathic system. The original twelve tissue salts are as follows.
No. 1 Calcarea Fluorica - Calc Flour 6x
Calcium fluoride or Flouride of Lime
This salt is found in the surface of the bones and in the enamel of the teeth, also in the elastic fibres
and skin.

This mineral occurs naturally in the body - in the bones, teeth, walls within the blood vessels and all
the connective holding tissues. This salt gives elasticity to the tissues of the body.
This mineral salt can benefit conditions such as:
Varicose veins, Varicose ulcers, Piles, Hernias and prolepses, Deficient enamel - poor teeth.
Useful for teeth developing late in an infant.

A disturbance in the balance of this salt causes a relaxed condition and a dilation, interfering with
absorption thus favouring hardening and swelling of the tissues. Causes hardened glands, hardening
and swelling of the tissues.

No.2 Calcarea Phosphorica - Calc Phos 6x

Calcium phosphate or Phosphate of Lime
This salt gives solidity to the bones. It is essential to the proper growth and nutrition of the body and
is required to generate new tissue.
This mineral salt is found in the bones, teeth, and soft tissues of the body, but concerns itself mainly
with the bony structures of the body - also assisting in coagulation of the blood.
This mineral salt can benefit conditions such as:
Fractures that are slow to heal, Teething difficulties, Poor nutrition and digestion, Chilblains, Cramp,
and where there is a liability to catch colds and catarrhal problems. Also Chronic tonsillitis.

No. 3 Calcarea Sulphurica - Calc Sulph 6x

Calcium sulphate or Gypsum
This salt is contained in the connective tissue and is closely related to exudations. The presence of
pus with a vent is the general indication.
This salt helps with purification of the blood, it helps dry up thing which may be discharging in the
body i.e. abscesses infected sinus. This tissue salt can be affective where the following conditions
are seen. Spots and pimples in adolescence, Skin eruptions, Skin that is slow in healing, Dandruff,
Falling hair, Catarrh, Vertigo with nausea, Lips that are sore, Gum boils, Neuralgia, Frontal
headaches, Pancreatic upsets, Liver upset, Kidney upset.

No. 4 Ferrum Phosphoricum - Ferr Phos 6x

Iron phosphate or Phosphate of Iron
Iron is found most abundantly in the red blood corpuscles but it is also contained in every cell. Iron
restores the tone, equalizes the circulation and abates fever.
This is the salt that helps with oxygen carriage within the body. This can be considered as a
supplementary remedy for almost everything, i.e., inflammations, congestion, high temperature,
anything that is leading its way to a fever. This remedy also helps regulate the bowel whether loose or
constipated.
The use of this salt can be considered for the following conditions:Minor respiratory disorders, Childhood illnesses, First stage of all inflammations, Congestions, Nose
bleeds, Excessive periods, Throbbing, congestive headache, Coughs and colds, Chills, Feverishness.

No. 5 Kali Muriaticum - Kali Mur 6x

Potassium chloride or Chloride of Potash
This salt is found in the blood, nerve cells and muscles, it relates to fibrin and corresponds to the
second stage of all inflammations.
finds This salt can be used for the second stage of inflammatory illnesses, and is helpful in the
following conditions:
Minor respiratory disorders, Coughs, cold symptoms, wheeziness, This is a useful salt to give prior
to vaccination or immunization to help eliminate undesirable side-effects. Also helpful with
Chickenpox, scarlet fever, mumps, measles, White/grey coating of the tongue, Catarrh, Eczema, Warts,
Acne, Diarrhoea due to fatty foods, Piles, Shingles, Burns and scalds.
An individual deficient in this salt usually they are worse with fatty foods.

No. 6 Kali Phosphoricum - Kali Phos 6x

Potassium Phosphate or Phosphate of Potash
This salt is a part of all animal fluids and tissue, notably the brain, muscles and blood. It acts as an
antiseptic and hinders the decay of tissues.
This is the tissue salt for the nervous system and is known as the nerve soother, helpful in nervous
conditions and is useful at some stage in most illness for the lack of sleep and panic so often seen,
very helpful for the relatives of patients calming and soothing the nervous system. This salt can assist
in the following:
All temporary nerviness, Melancholia, Hysteria, Highly strung individuals, States of fear, Timid and
shy, Nervous debility, Emotional strain, Excessive blushing, Nightmares, inability to sleep, Nervous
indigestion, diarrhoea, headache, asthma.

No. 7 Kali Sulphuricum - Kali Sulph 6x

Potassium Sulphate or Sulphate of Potash
This is the tissue salt for internal respiration. Every cell in the body takes in oxygen and burns sugar
in order to work. This is often known as the remedy for people who rush about. When lacking in this
salt there can be stiffness in the body and a need for fresh air.
This salt is one of the great lubricants for the body, and is beneficial for the following:
Bronchitis, When the tongue is coated yellow, Thick yellow mucus catarrh, Gastric catarrh, Intestinal
catarrh, Asthma, Menstrual disorders, Eczema, psoriasis, brittle nails can all be assisted by the use of
this salt. Also helps in the maintenance of healthy hair.

No. 8 Magnesia Phosphorica - Mag Phos 6x,

Magnesium Phosphate or Phosphate of Magnesia
This tissue salt is known as the antispasmodic and is helpful where griping pain is experienced,
contractions of organs such as the uterus and intestines.
This tissue salt is helpful in the following:
Muscle cramps and spasms, Minor occasional pains, Intermittent retention of urine, bladder spasm,
Enlarged prostate, Writers cramp and similar conditions, Crampy labour pains, Painful menstruation,
Ovarian neuralgia, Gallstone colic, Kidney stone colic, Constipation in infants, Flatulence, Sharp
shooting pain.

No. 9 Natrum Muriaticum - Nat Mur 6x

Sodium chloride or Common Table Salt
This salt is regarded one of the most important of the twelve. It is a distributor and controller of water
throughout the body. It can be used for the following conditions:
Circulation problems, Watery vomiting, Diarrhoea, Minor haemorrhage, Anaemia (always see your
doctor), Watery colds with flow of tears and runny nose, Loss of smell, Loss of taste, Insect stings and
bites generally, Thin watery milk in lactation, Excessive breast size in pregnancy, excessive tears,
salivation, Teething with excessive salivation, Hay fever, Asthma, Chronic eczema, Acne, Greasy
skin, Ulcer of gums, Gout, Sciatica, Sunstroke.

No.10 Natrum Phosphoricum - Nat Phos 6x

Sodium Phosphate or Phosphate of Soda
This tissue salt is known as the acid neutralizer, useful for individuals who are irritable and critical,
expressing frustration and volatility - these are indications of acid conditions within the body. This
salt will assist in the functioning of the digestive organs, helping to assimilate fats and other nutrients.
Beneficial for the following conditions:
All acid states of the bloodstream, Rheumatism of joints, Gout, To help in the prevention of
gallstones, Giddiness, Conjunctivitis, Red, blotchy face, Grinding of teeth during sleep, Yellow
coated tongue, Catarrh and thick yellow mucus, Heartburn, Nausea, Morning sickness of pregnancy,
Gastric indigestion, Loss of appetite, Constipation, Diarrhoea, Acidity, Sleeplessness from itching in
acid states.

No.11 Natrum Sulphuricum - Nat Sulph 6x

Sodium sulphate or Glaubers Salt
This tissue salt is know as the natural diuretic, helping the body to clear toxins from the system, and is
beneficial for the following:
To help with the water balance, Biliousness, Vomiting in pregnancy, Diarrhoea, Constipation, Tongue
grey or greenish brown, Liver upsets, Gall bladder upsets, Kidney upsets, Pancreatic upsets,
Rheumatism in watery subjects, Gout in watery subjects, Bronchial catarrh, Flu symptoms, Hay fever,
Warts, Ear noises and earache from fluid retention, Flatulence and colic, Distended stomach,
Queasiness, Digestive upset.

No.12 Silicon dioxide - Silica 6x

Pure Quartz
This is know as the cleansing tissue salt of the body and is useful where an individual has difficulty in
eliminating, where the bowel movement is poor, difficulty in perspiration, unpleasant body odour.
This salt is beneficial for the following:Lack of grit - physical and mental, Absent-mindedness, Foot sweats, Alcoholic intolerance, Falling
out of hair, Brittle nails, Eye strain, Asthma from dust, Styes, Fissures, Boils, Alopecia, Whitlows,
In-growing toe-nails.
All of the above are a guide to the twelve tissue salts. If you find more than one salt is needed take a
look at the combination salt range targeted for specific conditions.

Condition of the Tongue

Hard cracked or flabby

1. Calc.Fl

Swollen or blistered bad taste in the morning

2. Calc.Ph

Sore taste, soapy acrid, coated, like dry clay

3. Calc.Sul

Inflamed or swollen. Clean red dark red

The twelve inorganic tissue salts combine with and convert organic matter into living tissue. Any
deficiency or imbalance in the tissue salts can cause a variety of symptoms as previously described.
If response to the bio-chemic tissue salts is slow it could be that the there is an accumulation of the
effects of suppressive treatments. In this case a short course of Nat. Mur and Kali Sulph in rotation,
three doses of each taken daily will help to clear the system so that corrective treatment with other
bio-chemic tissue salts will be effective.
Dr Schuesslers bio-chemic tissue salts are absolutely harmless, they supply the system with the
deficient inorganic element (minerals) which are pre-pared homoeopathically so that the body can
assimilate them readily and enable rapid restoration to a balance and harmony.

The following eighteen combination remedies have been formulated in accordance with
homoeopathic practice and can be taken in complete safety with other forms of treatment or other
single bio-chemic tissue salts.
Combination Remedy A
This remedy contains:
Ferr. Phos. 6x, Kali. Phos. 6x, and Mag. Phos. 6x.
This is used for Sciatica, Neuralgia and Neuritis.

Combination Remedy B
This remedy contains:
Calc. Phos. 6x, Kali. Phos. 6x, and Ferr. Phos. 6x
Used for General Debility, Edginess, Nervous Exhaustion and Convalescence.

Combination Remedy C
This remedy contains:
Mag. Phos. 6x, Nat. Phos. 6x, Nat. Sulph. 6x, and Silica 6x.
This is used for Acidity, Heartburn and Dyspepsia.

Combination Remedy D
This remedy contains:
Kali. Mur. 6x, Kali. Sulph. 6x, Calc. Sulph. 6x, and Silica 6x.
Used for Minor Skin Ailments, Scalp Eruptions, Eczema, Acne and Scaling of the Skin.

Combination Remedy E
This remedy contains:
Calc. Phos. 6x, Mag. Phos. 6x, Nat. Phos. 6x, and Nat. Sulph. 6x. Used for Flatulence, Colicky
Pains and Indigestion.
Combination Remedy F

This remedy contains:

Kali. Phos. 6x, Nat. Mur. 6x, and Silica 6x.
Used for Nervous Headache and Migrane.

Combination Remedy G
This remedy contains:
Calc. Fluor. 6x, Calc. Phos. 6x, Kali. Phos. 6x, and Nat. Mur. 6x.
Used for Backache, Lumbago and Piles.

Combination Remedy H
This remedy contains:
Mag. Phos. 6x, Nat. Mur. 6x, and Silica 6x.
This is used for Hay Fever and allied Conditions.

Combination Remedy I
This remedy contains:
Ferr. Phos. 6x, Kali. Sulph. 6x, and Mag. Phos. 6x.
Used for Fibrositis and Muscular Pain.

Combination Remedy J
This remedy contains:
Ferr. Phos. 6x, Kali. Mur. 6x, and Nat. Mur. 6x.
Used for Coughs, Colds and Chestiness, and is the Autumn and Winter Seasonal Remedy.

Combination Remedy K
This remedy contains:
Kali. Sulp. 6x, Nat. Mur. 6x, and Silica 6x.
Used for Brittle Nails and Falling Hair.

Combination Remedy L
This remedy contains:
Calc. Fluor. 6x, Ferr. Phos. 6x, and Nat. Mur. 6x.
Used for Sedentary Lifestyle, Toning the Tissues and is a Natural Tonic.

Combination Remedy M
This remedy contains:

I decided I would like to take all the tissue salts at once as a general boost. I wanted to make sure that
I covered everything. I did this using the combination remedies as I did not want to buy another 6
individual salts and take twelve pills each time. I could do this on 4 pills a time and it seemed to
work just as well.
If you wished to take all the tissue salts you could buy three combination remedies.
You would need either
D, G, E plus the single Tissue Salt 4 Or
D, E, L plus the single Tissue Salt 6
My choice would be the first one as No. 4 Ferr Phos Iron Phosphate would be most useful as a
stand alone remedy.
At one time I needed Combination Q but the shop had sold out so I used one pill from 4, 5, 7 & 9 for
each dose and this worked extremely well for me. My catarrh had been very problematic in the past,
and always in spring but it shifted without the usual lingering problems.
Be very careful not to touch the pills, pop them into the lid and then straight onto your tongue.
Experiment, these salts are very safe.
