Why the State of Israel Should Stop Attacking Palestine

Palestine is a region in the Middle East that has been continuously attacked by Israelis for
many decades with completely inequitable and wrongful arguments. Since the founding of Israel,
the Jews have behaved in a cruel way to the Palestinians, generating their displacement, creating
numerous tragedies, and displaying attitudes that reflect discrimination and a huge lack of
democracy. After more than sixty years, the real history behind these confrontations is ironically not
known to everybody but all of these happenings reveal how the Israelis have fell under a religious
and political movement, and have destroyed an entire civilization. Therefore, Palestinians have
resisted the oppression of most of their human rights, they have been destroyed and humiliated not
only from political, religious and geographical reasons, but also through hatred, torture, harshness,
execution, assassination and inhuman unfair treatment. From that basis, I strongly believe that the
aggression needs to stop so that Palestinian could retrieve their freedom, and once and for all, the
human values could overlap the ambition and unsupported pursuits.
Politics, religion and geography caused disputes that determined the pitiful situation of
Palestine, as it is nowadays, and these disputes demonstrate the immediate invasion of Jews in a
community that have received them without any violent attitudes. Everything began after the First
World War, when Palestine became a colony of Great Britain and British authorities promised to
give half of the land to the Jews, who were seeking the creation of their own independent state.
After not fulfilling that promise, the political and nationalist movement of Zionism was founded
under the premise of the re-establishment of the land of Israel, the land that God offered to them
and which they were fairly trying to regain. A huge event that anticipated the immigration of
Jewish to Palestine was the antisemite movement during the Second World War. This last one

brought the rushed settlement and foundation of the independent state of Israel in 1948, which
entailed the displacement of many citizens and of course it built conflicts between the Palestinians
and Arabians against the Jewish Israelis. BBC Mundo (2014, August 5th) 10 preguntas para

From

the

beginning, the settlement of Jews implied the abrupt possession of the land, and an attitude opposed
to have equality and make agreements.
One of the biggest problems that remained from all these decades is the displacement of a
tremendous part of the Palestinian people along with all the physical and psychological damages
from which they are still being victims . Through all the fights provoked by Israel citizens, 3/4 of
Palestinians had to abandon their land in 1949. That traumatic period is what they called in their
native language The Nakba (Chaos, and destruction). When they tried to return to their homeland
they were rejected by the Jew, so they became refugees. Children of Palestinian families are the
ones that have suffered more, its confirmed that almost 400.000 have received psychological help
since 1948. Nowadays most of this population live in campsites and obviously in sad conditions.
The percentage that displays how the Palestinian land has reduced since 1948 is frightening, and it
is only getting smaller every day. There are refugees living in the Gaza strip, West Bank and Jordan
and they represent 20% of the population, there are almost 5 million of them from which 1 million
is living in campsites for 50 years. Since 1948 the 85% of Palestinians were expelled or forced to
abandon the land. Jewish Voice for Peace (2012, November 28th). Israeli Palestinian conflict

has lost its sense, its not worth the damages that theyre doing to a society that is absolutely
innocent by having born there. How long are they going to keep attaching and ruining the lives of
innocent people to settle in that land, under the name of God? What is going to wake them up from

their ambitious and accursed purpose? How is it possible that the complete destruction of a society
could bring them satisfaction?

The Palestinians were not only expelled from their land but also had their human rights and
fundamental needs taken away. The fact that both states are sharing the same land with the same
scarce resources brings the dispute of the empowerment. Israel has the support of the United States,
by the financing and providing of massive weapons, this fact makes the big difference between
them, and of course gives more power to the Jews. Actually, Palestinians have more difficulty
accessing to natural resources, potable water and all of their agricultural soil is being destroyed by
the army of Israel. Unfortunately this cant be stopped because anyone who tried it has been
punished by being killed, imprisoned or tortured. Jewish Voice for Peace (2012, November 28th).

dont have a real support of any potency and this only creates the aggravation of the problem. I
dont support that Palestinians are defending themselves with violence but through many decades of
aggression, its the only way of defense for them.

The results of all of these decades have brought almost 53.000 deaths of Palestinians and
just some Israelis compared to the first number. There have been bombardments of hospitals,
schools, killing of children and lots of people injured. This numbers and facts are absolutely
unacceptable, considering any purpose, any religious position, political or geographical. Most
people think that Palestinians are the ones who are the terrorists because of not accepting to leave

the land and they are the ones that accept the violence to its population, but I strongly believe that
they are not terrorists if they are victims of humiliation and absolute manipulation. They have
suffered more than anybody in the world in the last decades and I believe that their situation is
being ignored, compared to how all the world felt pity for the Jews after the Second World War, for
example. The long conversations between the authorities of both states have been a complete fail.
This does not mean that the solution is to let the Jews keep on killing Palestinians. This means that
both need to sign a peace treaty, leaving behind all the unsupported objectives and once and for all,
caring about human rights or at least well being. Maybe even after a peace treaty, all the suffering is
going to stay in the history but the minimum stop to this tragedies would make everybody recover
from this traumatic situation and right of freedom again. For this generation, ours, life is nuclear
survival, liberty is human rights, the pursuit of happiness is a planet whose resources are devoted to
the physical and spiritual nourishment of its inhabitants (Carter Jimmy).
