Lynne Webbings, has an internal conflict after losing the Holmes
- Watkins Medal for short story writing to Geoff Bolder. Initially, she was tense and impatient while waiting for Mr Velos to announce the result Geoff realised that Lynne was very disappointed and jokes about how the winner was chosen Lynne temporarily felt better, but then discovered that Geoff had 'stolen' the plot and main character of his short story from a tale by Wiliam Bradburie, a famous author. She considered telling Mr Velos, the principal that Geoff had cheated. Then, she was called into the principal's office. Mr Velos told her that Geoff wanted to be disqualified even though he technically did not cheat. Geoff even apologized to Lynne after their meeting with principal. In the end, Lynne got the medal she wanted to much, but she did not feel good about it.
CHEAT! MORAL VALUES
We should have the spirit of competitiveness in order to further our good character traits. We should be honest in whatever we do Creativity is a positive attitude and can increase our self-confidence and skills. We should learn to let go and talk out our anger whether it is with friends or enemies. We should not be overly presumptuous and take situations or people for granted. Friends are an important part of our daily life and so we should have faith and not judge them too harshly.
A NIGHT OUT (DRAMA)
This is a drama false impression. Towers chandler, an office worker, has an interesting routine. He sets aside a dollar every week from his earnings. Then on the tenth week, he spends the money on a night out on the town. He wears his finest clothes, goes to a finest restaurant and pretends to be someone from the upper class. One day, he has a chance encounter with a young, plainly-dressed woman named Marian, Chandler takes a liking to her and asks her to join him for dinner. During dinner, Chandler keeps up with his pretences and tells her about his life as a man of leisure. Marian seems disappointed that he has no proper job or ambition and leaves the restaurant after dinner. When Marian gets home, it becomes apparent that she is actually a lady from the upper class, and not a shop girl as Chandler had assumed, she is regretful that although she likes Chandler, she does not like the lifestyle that he leads. The ending makes the readers wonder if a friendship could have developed between them if only they had been genuine with each other.
