BATTLE P.L.A.

N
Scripture: 2 Kings 19:14-19; Isaiah 36-37
**Icebreaker about battle plan
Imagine you were about to face a real battle, what would be your plan? How would
you prepare for the battle? Would you call more armies to strengthen your troupe?
Or would you buy more armors and guns? Many troupe would probably do this
things, but theres one king who did not seek for more soldiers or armors but he
seek the most important one.
**Reading of Scriptures**
King Hezekiah was the current king of Judah when King Sennacherib of Assyria
threaten him through his officials that hell attack the latters kingdom and left
nothing until all his people will be so hungry and thirsty that they will eat their own
dung and drink their own urine (v.19-27).
The usual thing that a king may do is that hell prepare his armies through intensive
training, etc that they may be able to protect their land. Last week, we were all
surprised by the bombing of Davao. With this threat, Pres. Duterte proclaimed the
Philippines under State of Lawlessness. This is his plan. There will be strict
implementation of security measures to ensure the safety of all civilians. Maybe
some of us also facing battles in our respective lives. What do you do when you are
backed into a corner about to face something bigger than your ability to handle?
What can we learn from King Hezekiah?
P- Pause in prayer (2 Kings 19:1)
Its easy for us to react first whenever a challenge or problem struck us. It
easy for to worry first. Just like the officials King Hezekiah sent, some of us may feel
hopeless and we think that theres no solution in our problems. We may think our
finances will not be enough for next week. Or maybe some of us experiencing
challenge in our careers, or our studies maybe some of you is overwhelmed with
all the tasks you have to do. Or some of you is battling with temptations or sin? You
feel that you can never get out of it and you are trap with that sin. Are fears,
worries, hopelessness and frustrations or even sin overwhelmed you so much? Then
be like King Hezekiah, pause in prayer. Instead of worry, be feared or overcome with
sin, pause in prayer. We can see that his prayer is immediate. It wasnt an
afterthought. It was prior to making his plans. We are so geared to react that its
hard for us to go first to God. He may be second or third or when we are backed into
a corner and have no choice, but as a habit we need to make God the first place we
turn in our lives.

L- isten to God (2 Kings 19:5-7)

We may pray but most of the times we pray to just lay our problems before
God not to listen to what God says. After King Hezekiah prayed, he sent his officials
to Isaiah to deliver the message from Assyria. As we all know, Isaiah is a prophet
and through Him, King Hezekiah knows what the Lord says. Are we too impulsive?
We make our own solutions with our problems without waiting for what the Lord
wants us to do. Just like King Hezekiah, lets wait and listen to what God wants us to
do.
Isaiah 55:8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,
declares the Lord.
As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Let us not be overcome by our challenges but let the Lord rule over our lives.
A-adversaries will shake your faith (2 Kings 19:10-13)
King Sennacherib did not settle for one threat to King Hezekiah. Before he attack
the King of Ethiopia, he sent another message to King Hezekiah. Like our
challenges, it might come back again and again to shake our faith. It will deceive us
that the promises of God is not true.
YOU SAY
Im too tired
--- You are too tired.
Just rest. Instead of
going on your church
activities just rest.
Its impossible
---It is not possible.
Cant you see it?
Theres no way to fulfill
it.
I cant forgive myself
---Ive done wrong. God
will not forgive me
anymore.
Im not smart enough
---All my grades is
plank. I dont know
where to go
I cant do it
--- I am not able to do
it. I give up.

GOD SAYS
I will give you rest

Philippians 4:19

Thus, expect for it! God did not promise that well not experience adversaries here
on earth. It will shake your faith and be ready for it. Stand firm. BATTLE IT WITH
PRAYER. What King Hezekiah did was he immediately come to God and prayed.
Whenever adversaries struck us down, our ultimate defense and offense is prayer.
BATTLE IT WITH PRAYER.

N- ever Doubt the power of God (2 Kings 19:14-19)

Usually, we pray to our problems and challenges. We tell God, Lord, I am currently
suffering or struggling to blah blah.. As if God doesnt know it at all. Before we say
anything to God I prayer, He knows it (Matt. 6:8). What we do in prayer is we tell our
adversaries/challenges who our God is. Just like the first part of King Hezekiahs
prayer, he acknowledged the greatness of God that God is the King above all Kings.
With this prayer, he is telling that none can defeat God for He is greater than any
other gods of this world.
King Hezekiahs prayer was bold and certain. Without any doubt, he come to God
with boldness and humility. Hezekiah had a faith in God that allowed him to pray
with confidence. You need to understand that faith is always based on the promises
of God. Some things God has promised to dosome He hasnt. God has promised to
always get glory for Himself and always work things for an ultimate good. He hasnt
promised to rid everyone of cancer or to heal every bad relationship.
(That doesnt mean we shouldnt pray for everything. We dont know His will, but we
cant guarantee God to do that which He hasnt promised to do.) Sometimes we get
upset because God doesnt do something we asked or wanted Him to do but the
fact is He had never promised to do it.
Hezekiah knew God had promised to save His people. He knew God had placed him
in the position of authority over them. He had confidence that God would do what
He had promised to do. Hezekiah trusted God to be faithful to His word so he was
willing to act in faith.
Just like King Hezekiah, lets face our battles with dependence to God and
confidence that God is all powerful God. In fact, we can never doubt God because
He has proven a lot to us. He won the greatest battle and that is battle with death.
No doubt that we can really trust Him with all our struggles. All we need is to be still
and know that He is God.

Conclusion:

2 Kings 19:35-37, tells that God Himself struck down the armies of Assyrian.
Isaiah 37:21-22, Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent a message to Hezekiah: This is
what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Because you have prayed to me concerning
Sennacherib king of Assyria..
Because you have prayed---- it is the cause of Gods answer. Because Hezekiah
turned to God, He rescued him and his people. When we turn our worries into
prayer, we discover that God is faithful I unexpected ways! See how the Lord will act
when we pray.
Are you facing battles in your life now? In your finances? Battle it with prayer.
In your career or studies? Battle it with prayer.
In your workplace or business? Battle it with prayer.
In your relationship with your family or others? Battle it with prayer.

Quote:
War Room
I think youll find that when you let Him, God is a good defense attorney. Trust it to
Him. And then you can turn your focus to the real enemy. The real enemy? The
one that wants to remain hidden. The one that wants to distract you, deceive you,
and divide you from the Lord and from your husband. Thats how he works. Satan
comes to steal, kill, and destroy. And he is stealing your joy, killing your faith, and
trying to destroy your family. The old woman was fiery now, like an old-time
preacher just getting wound up and ready to pound the pulpit. If I were you, I
would get my heart right with God. AND YOU NEED TO DO YOUR FIGHTIN IN
PRAYER. You need to kick the real enemy out of your home with the Word of God.
