1.) Statement of Purpose

A detailed (one to two pages) statement of purpose is essential to the application. The
statement should include the applicants reasons for undertaking graduate work in the
chosen engineering field, and an explanation of the applicants interest in the
management & law, soft skills and language programs of NIT. It should be described
how the planned graduate work relates to the undergraduate study and to the
professional goals of the applicant.
In case you wish to apply for a scholarship, please specify in your statement of purpose
which scholarships you would like to be considered for and give reasons why you are
interested in the specific sponsoring companies. The number of industrial scholarships
being available is limited. Therefore, not all qualified applicants can be offered a
scholarship. Please indicate in your statement if you are also interested, as an
alternative, in financing the management tuition by the use of a loan scheme offered
by NIT or/and by your own financial resources.
2.) Letters of Recommendation
At least two letters of recommendation must be submitted from faculty members
acquainted with the applicants work in the major area of undergraduate study. If that
work occurred some time ago, recommendations from those familiar with the
applicants professional performance are acceptable, too (supervisor or HR manager in
the employers company). NIT provides a standardized format for the letter of
recommendation for download. In case the referee wishes to send the letter of
recommendation directly to NIT, please make sure that the name of the applicant and
application number is indicated clearly on the letter or e-mail.
3.) Professional Experience
Admission to the management program leading to the degree "Master of Business
Administration (MBA)" requires a proven practical professional experience after
graduation of at least two years (24 months). Practical experience as a student intern
during the university education is a plus during the selection process but cannot
formally count as a "professional experience". However, candidates with less than 24
months of such practical job experience after graduation can be admitted to the
management program, too, but will get the degree "Master of Arts (MA)". All
candidates should submit a letter from their former employer(s) confirming the exact
duration of employment and kind of job position.
4.) German or Further Language Certificates
If you have attended any formal German or other foreign language courses not already
listed in your university program you may submit any proof of courses and formal
examinations you have attended and passed.
