I Centre method & Acceleration analysis of mechanisms Tutorial -02

For all the questions final numerical values are not expected. Clear procedure and steps are to be mentioned.
Draw diagrams, write correct notations, equations, tabular column etc. IC are to be located for all problems.
Graphical procedure to find the velocity using IC to be written .
Draw configuration diagram, write velocity vector equation, draw vector tabular column, draw velocity polygon,
and determine linear and angular velocities. Use trigonometric relation to find the numerical values. write
acceleration vector equation, draw acceleration vector tabular column, draw acceleration vector polygon, Use
trigonometric relation to find the numerical values, all the steps need to be clearly mentioned, write the
assumption made , Use the same notations as given in the figure for indicating points and to indicate velocity and
acceleration use the notations like Vb, Vpq, , etc with the help of acceleration find the force, offset required,
mark it on the configuration diagram
1. (a) In the mechanism shown in figure 1, the link 2, a disc mounted on a motor shaft drives link 3 through a
rolling pin at point B. Link 2 rotates at uniform angular velocity of 50 rad / s (cw). and the curvature R of the
slot in the link 3 is 305 mm. Determine the angular acceleration (3) of link 3 (data given O2O3=229 mm,
O2B2=50.8 mm, angle O3O2B2 is 60 degree ,crank angle from horizontal, measured from O3O2 in CW
direction. R=305 mm 2= 50 rad/s, CB for the given crank angle is perpendicular to O3O2)
