Sweater Clog-Slippers
Skill level:
Materials slippers:
Yarn: Chunky/5, Wool, or any suitable yarn obtaining
size- and gauge-info below.
I have used: Light/3, double-stranded,
Bravo/Smc/ Schachenmayr, by Coat, Art. 9801211,
100 % Acrylic, Skein 50 gr/133 m ( 1.8 oz/ 145 yd)
Amount: About 50-100 g (2-3.5 oz) depending on size.
Crochet hook:
The sizes are created by changing hook-size:
Gauge:
Swatch with any hook to obtain gauge and size info below.
Size S/M: 15 scs x 16 rows = 10x10 cm (4 in square)
Size M/L: 14 scs x 15 rows = 10x10 cm (4 in square)
Size L/XL: 13 scs x 14 rows = 10x10 cm (4 in square)

Medium = US 5 - 6 / EU 37-38
Heel to toe: 8 3/4 - 9 in (22-23 cm)
1/2 Foot-Width: 3 3/4 in (9 cm)
Large= US 7 - 8/ EU 39-40
Heel to toe: 9 1/4 - 9 3/4 in (24-25 cm)
1/2 Foot-Width: 4 in (10 cm)
Extra Large = US 9-10 / EU 41-42
Heel to toe: 10 - 10 3/4 in (26-27 cm)

Main-color on slipper is written as: Basic.
Pattern-color is written as: Stripe.
Instruction for foundation below, is the normal, and easy way to start a
toe-piece. However; I always start with Foundation-sts; In this case; Fscs.
This creates a hole-free and neat start, recommended.

Basic: Ch 7 for foundation, purple symbols on right-hand chart.
R 1: Start in 3rd ch from hook, 1 sc in each of next 4 chs.
In next (last) ch; 5 scs. (You are now on the opposite side of the
foundation, green symbols). Work 1 sc in each of next 4 chs.
In last ch, (not counting the start-ch); 4 scs.
Close R with sl st in the 1st ch on beg of R.

Mark the side-sts; The middle of the 3 sts you have in each side.
R 2: Basic: Ch 1, Scs around. Increase 1 dc (2 dcs in 1 st) in both sts next

Leave Basic-color on BS of work. You have inc 4 sts = 22 sts on R.
R 3: Stripe: Ch 1, scs around. (Get rid of the tail; work it into your sts on BS).
Close R with sl st in 1st ch on R, change to Basic-color on last pullthrough, pic 2. Leave Stripe-yarn on BS of work. 22 sts.
R 4: Basic: Ch 1, scs around. Inc 4 sts; Repeat increase and colorchange as on R 2. 26 sts.
R 5: Stripe: Repeat R 3. 26 sts.
R 6: Basic: Ch 1, scs around. Inc 4 sts; Repeat inc as in R 2. 30 sts.
R 7: Basic: Ch 1, scs around. Close R with sl st in 1st ch on R, change to

EDGING THE SLIPPERS:
Start on inside of foot of left/right slipper.
FINAL ROPE-EDGING :
Basic-color: Chain a string; Length covering the
circumference of the slippers instep.
Start MB on back of heel, twist the hook through the
ch-space sts, 4-5 loops at a time, pic 3.
Attach end of the string to the hook, pull through
loops. Repeat the same move around.
Adjust the string, not too tight!
Adjoin ends of string: On back of heel, snap off/unravel both ends of the string to exact length for ends
to meet MB, on inside of sole, pic 4.
Insert hook in one end-ch, pull the loop of the other
end-ch through loop on hook.
Pull tail thr loop, pull tail-ends to tighten, fasten both
yarn-ends. Pic 4.

HOW TO FSC - Foundation single crochet - Ch and Sc in one stitch.

1. Make a yarn-loop.
Ch 1 around circle to close
it. Keep the loop open (Do
not pull tail to close)

Foundation chain is
