OPLAN TOKHANG- Under this, police station commanders will ask barangay captains
to submit a list of residents who are into illegal drugs, whether pushers, dealers, users
or couriers.
TOKHANG- It is a Visayan word which means to approach and talk.

It was launched as part of the campaign to warn illegal drugs traffickers and
users that law enforcers are turning on the heat.

According to statistics:

From July 1-20, the PNP have knocked on 61,806 houses of suspected
drug personalities, resulting in the surrender of 114,833 illegal drug
suspects and the arrest of 2,789.

Human Rights Watch and Stop Aids and International HIV/Aids Alliance are among
more than 300 civil society groups that have signed joint letters to the International
Narcotics Control Board (INCB) and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC),
calling on them to break their silence over the crackdown.
