Events of March 1, 1949 General Offensive is a very exciting event to be
studied in history. It's caused by in the event contains the values of struggle they
are scores of nationalism, self-sacrificing, never give up, cooperation, tolerance,
unity and integrity. This study examines the perceptions of teachers and students
against events of March 1, 1949 General Offensive. The purpose of this study are:
(1) describes the perception of teachers and students to the events of March 1,
1949 General Offensive in the teaching of history in SMA Negeri 8 Yogyakarta,
(2) explains teaching history on material event of March 1, 1949 General
Offensive at SMAN 8 Yogyakarta, (3) describes the implementation of learning by
teachers in delivering educational values embodied in the events of March 1, 1949
General Offensive in learning history in SMA Negeri 8 Yogyakarta.
This research is a qualitatif method that use case study strategy. Data
collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Testing
the validity of the data using triangulation techniques. Analysis of the data used
an interactive model that consists of data reduction, data presentation, and
drawing to a conclusion.
Research shows that the perception of teachers and students to the events of
March 1, 1949 General Offensive in a very interesting and important lesson to be
learned. This is because by studying the events of 1 March General Offensive can
foster a sense of nationalism and national historical awareness, self-sacrificing,
and unyielding spirit and values that can be exemplary examples in order to
become a better person. Then the teaching of history material General Offensive
March 1, 1949 in the class appears when teachers use methods and media are
quite varied in learning therefore when the learning progresses, students were
enthusiastic and active in participating in learning. While the views of the
implementation of learning about values events contained in the General
Offensive March 1, 1949 is very important to be delivered to students during
learning activities take place. This is due to the implementation of the applicable
private student can make better in the future. Suggestions put forward by
researchers is: students should be able to inherit the values of the struggle of the
events of March 1, 1949 General Offensive.
