Presentation
Factory is a Computer Aided Manufacturing module (CAM), useful to manage production /
fabrication issues for unique item as well as for large series products, in several steps:
definition of the components(products and services) of a product
fabrication follow-up (production order management and planning)
costs determination (supply and sale) and margin
Beginning
Installation prerequisite
Factory module works with Dolibarr from version 3.4.x and php version 5.3. It has to be installed
as any Dolibarr module: unzip the archive file in the main folder.
Mass production
Mass production mode offers to fabricate large quantities of products from a defined composition
that does not change or not much, with identified components in Dolibarr.
The mode works from Factory tab on a Dolibarr product card.
Remark: to be fabricated , a product has to be to sell and stock module has to be activated.
Factory offers to fabricate mass production products according to 2 methods:
Direct Manufacture: products manufacture is launched directly without using production
order and manufacture planning and follow-up.
Production order (OF): This mode uses manufacture orders to follow-up products
manufacture (planning, length, consumption and effective production).
The next and first step is common to both methods.
Composition definition and raw products prices are defined on the first tab of Factory. The same
screen displays products including the product to fabricate as a component.
To select components, Factory works as Dolibarr for virtual products with Composition
definition button.
A first step filters products from key words or from a category.
Search for a product name and/or click on search
Tick the boxes of necessary component products.
Enter the quantities of products
Prices (supply and sale) retrieval button allows retrieving these data from the component
products.
The page allows modifying supply and purchase prices. In case of error, it is still possible to come
back to the initial valorization with the retrieval button.
The screen allows then to modify the prices. In case of mistake it is possible to retrieve original data
using again the same button.

Direct manufacture
Once composition is defined, Factory allows a direct manufacture (without production order). This
mode is useful in case of simple products composition that dont need a planning.
To use the method, click on direct manufacture button.
According to components stock in warehouses, Factory determines the quantity of products that
can be composed in which warehouse. (If 0 is displayed, it means that no product can be
composed).
The quantity calculated by Factory can be modified according to the production needs.
Once manufacture is done with launch manufacture , components stocks are decreased of the
used quantity and composed products are increased of the quantity made.
11
Production order
Production order launch
A manufacture is launched from a product card, Factory tab, and Production order second
level tab. The page then displays the registered composition and available quantities per warehouse.
Here, it is possible to send an e-mail to the warehouse contact.
Before clicking on production order button, warehouse data, quantities, planned date and time
manufacture and other necessary information have to be filled in.
12
Manufacture report
At the end of the manufacture, the manufacture manager adjusts stocks, entering real quantities of
composed and used products.
If necessary, stocks are updated with end the manufacture button.

How it works
Factory uses the Dolibarr native project and composition modules and adds two tabs :
-
A first tab on the task card allowing selecting products that are planned to be used in the
realization of the task.
A tab on the project card to follow-up the consumption of products along the project.
Factory project mode allows using a registered composition in a new product clicking on Use
composition in a product button.
A made-to-measure product is a set of products and services. Unlike a mass product, a made-tomeasure product is not manufactured according to a composition and is not in the product list of
Dolibarr.
Consumed products can be registered on tasks of a validated and activated project.
16
Edit composition , Prices retrieval and Adjust prices buttons work in the same way as
mass production manufacturing.
17
Lost Qty:
18
Once the stock movement is registered a list shows the project products consumption.
19
Composition relocation
On a closed project, it is possible to register a set of tasks related to a composition.

Other functions
Products declinations management
How it works
The aim of this function is to generate as many products as defined declinations.
To do it, Factory uses composition creation and category management.
This function works from products categories (category module has to be activated).
Products are classified in 3 categories:
-
Root products group used for the declination (ROOT): products in this group are not to sell,
neither to buy, but are used to define the basis price.
Declinated products group (VARIANTS) : products in this group are not to sell, neither to
buy, but are used to define a price to be added to the base price.
Once categories are defines, products, classifying, catalogue generation process has to be used :
update data
add components
21
Declination example
Example : shoes, sizes and colors
Create in ROOT two pairs of shoes (A : 45 and B : 55)
Create 2 categories: size and color
In size category, add products size 36, 37, 38 and 42. Size 42 will be 1 more expensive.
In color category, creat products blue, white, red, for 1 more.
