A hero that everyone should to know

For many years at schools students have been learning about national
heroes who have distinguished themselves because of their actions which have
helped to consolidate the country we know today. However, there are many more.
Many of them have been forgotten or, simply, are not well-known as Alfonso Garca
Robles, a pacific hero who contributed the keep International Nuclear Control.
This illustrious Mexican dedicated a long time of his life
to the creation of a lasting and righteous International
Control. His professional career is intimately linked
with the United Nations, organization which helped him
with his Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons
in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Alfonso Garca Robles achieved that 33 Latin
Americans countries signed the Treaty for the
Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America and
the Caribbean on February 14, 1967. This Treaty had
and has the intention to create an area free of nuclear
weapons.
The main reason why he must be considered as a hero is because with his actions,
reflected in the Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America and
the Caribbean, he accomplished to stop the massive nuclear weapons production
around the world. Besides, his thought and ideas were primordial so, other
countries made similar treaties, which would allow having a worldwide stability.
In conclusion, it could be said
that thanks to Garca Robles the
world avoided a near 3rd Global
War. Furthermore, he is an
example of we need to have
initiative to do the things we
propose. By other side, we
should know about of all those
people who in their lives have
carried out actions which are significant for Mexico and the World.
