Welfare of Street Children

* To provide integrated community-based non-institutional


basic services for the care, protection and development of
street children facing destitution, neglect, abuse and
exploitation. Programme, interventions will be focused on
reduction of exploitation, abuse, and withdrawal of children
engaged in hazardous work. 90 percent grant will be given
to the voluntary organizations, and each organisation will
implement one project for 100 children.

training to weavers, supply of equipments, and marketing

both within cooperative fold, as well as those outside to
produce quality fabric, which is acceptable in the market.

* There will be no income from this scheme, but the


programme is likely to prove an effective instrument in
raising the standard of living of the rural people living
below the poverty line, and also to provide them with
additional job opportunities.

distributed to farmers in the year 2007-2008. 15 farmer's
field school are started by UPL. Zero til cum fertilizer drill
and 300 rotavator are distrubuted to farmers.

Promotion and Strengthening of


Mahila Mandals

Registered Mahila Mandals

* The Mahila Mandals do work for the promotion of


Nutrition education, family welfare, food storage,
immunization of children, small saving accounts of women,
provision of bathrooms, smokeless chulhas, women crafts
centre, and balwadis etc. The registered Mahila Mandals
have representative of all classes of society, and have their
own executive committee. The women and Child
Development Department provide grants for the training of
upto 5 members of each Mahila Mandals. For basic
equipments and Stationery etc., cash grant of Rs. 1500 is
paid to newly registered Mahila Mandals. After two years of
getting the first grant, the Mahila Mandal can be given a
second matching grant of Rs. 750 for starting some income
generating activities. The schemes, namely Mahila Mandal
Sammelan, Inter State Study Tour of Mahila Mandals,
Incentive Awards to Mahila Mandal have been clubbed
under the scheme promotion and strengthening of Mahila
Mandal.

Gaushalas

* Quality Breeding bulls have been given to various


Gaushalas other than providing artificial insemination
facilities at their doorsteps. 22 Gaushalas have also been
provided with infrastructure like Liquid Nitrogen jars and
an amount of Rs. 51000/- each has been given to 96
registered Gaushalas in the year 2001-02 for strengthening
their infrastructure. Gaushalas have been encouraged to
enhance their economic returns by not only producing
quality germplasm but also other eco-friendly activities like
installation of Gobar Gas Plants.

Individuals

* Under the scheme, children belonging to Scheduled Castes


studying in 9th to 12th classes are given monthly stipend of
Rs.40 per student, provided their parents or guardians are
not income tax payers. No tuition fee is charged from them
in Govt. institutions. The privately recognized
institutions/schools are reimbursed in this behalf by the
Government. Examination fee, charged from the students
by the University/Board is also refunded for those between
9th to 12th classes
